The \ntab has four sections which together provide a snapshot of who is being served and helps identify trends in population size and composition.(Related to: System Performance Measure 3 – Number of People Homeless) \nUse the data in the Counts Tab to monitor these trends, identify shifts in population composition, and adjust resources or services to better meet the needs of specific Veteran groups. For example, an increase in the number of Veterans with disabling conditions over the past year may suggest a growing need for specialized support. \nUser tip: Use the sidebar on the left of the screen to select the program, fiscal year, Veteran status, and other data filters. The filters will default to the current fiscal year and a Veteran Status of “Veterans Only.” Select the “expand” button in the lower right corner of each section for a larger view. \nSection 1: Basic Counts \nWhat It Measures: This section shows how many Veterans each grantee served by the end of the fiscalyear. The section also shows how many Veterans exited the program and to what destination, measuring how well grantees are moving Veterans into permanent destinations. \nHow to Read It: The first table has an overall count of Veterans and their family members. The second table (Basic Counts Detailed) breaks down the counts by status at the end of the reporting period for stayers (Veterans who remain in the program), and by destination types for leavers (Veterans who exited the program) . Counts of enrollments and statuses are calculated using each Veteran’s last SSVF enrollment during the fiscal year. \nExample: In the table below, grantees served 91,099 Veterans during FY 2024, 34,141 in Homelessness Prevention (HP), and 59,389 in Rapid Re-housing (RRH), based on the last enrollment the Veteran had in the reporting period. The Basic Counts Detailed table shows there were 51,724 leavers. Of those, 39,992 exited to permanent destinations. Among these exits to permanent destinations, 15,900 were from HP and 24,702 were from RRH. \nData Quality Considerations: The accuracy of the Basic Counts and Basic Counts Detailed data depends on grantees recording accurate Housing Move-In Dates and Exit Destinations for each enrollment. \nSection 2: Households by Household Type and Project Type \nWhat It Measures: This section shows information on the types of households SSVF grantees served. This can assist grantees in resource allocation and policy decisions. For example, if RRH served a higher proportion of households with children than previously thought, programs can shift resources accordingly to ensure they receive the most effective interventions. \nHow to Read It: The key performance indicators at the top of the section show the number of households served and the percentage breakdown of household types served. \nThe Households by Household Type and Assistance Type bar plot shows the number of households grantees served in RRH and HP for each household type. The colors of the bars correspond to the household type, and the height of the bar corresponds to the number of households served. The label above each bar shows the percentage and number of households in each group. Select the Data view to see the counts in a table form, which is downloadable to Excel. \nExample: As seen below, 90,630 households were served during the fiscal year, 84 percent of which were households without children and 16 percent were households with children. RRH served 6,940 households with children (12 percent of households), 52,213 households without children (88 percent), and two households of unknown type (0 percent) . \nData Quality Considerations: To get accurate household information, SSVF grantees and providers must enter all members of a household into HMIS with the correct Relationshi","cbCaiue5U6Oojf43","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiue5U6Oojf43","pdf",370722,"English","# Overview\n## User tip and navigation\n# Section 1: Basic Counts\n## What it measures\n## How to read it\n## Example and data quality\n# Section 2: Households by Household Type and Project Type\n## What it measures\n## How to read it\n## Example and data quality\n# Section 3: Disability Status by Project Type\n## What it measures\n## How to read it\n## Example and data quality\n# Section 4: Served by Age Group\n## What it measures\n## How to read it","[{\"question\":\"What does the Counts tab show during the fiscal year?\",\"answer\":\"It displays the total number of Veterans and their family members served, including demographics such as age and disability status, to help identify trends in population size and composition.\"},{\"question\":\"How are Basic Counts and Basic Counts Detailed calculated?\",\"answer\":\"They use each Veteran’s last SSVF enrollment during the fiscal year; the data reflects stayers by status at the end of the reporting period and leavers by destination type.\"},{\"question\":\"What data quality inputs affect the accuracy of the counts?\",\"answer\":\"Accuracy depends on grantees recording correct Housing Move-In Dates and Exit Destinations, entering all household members into HMIS with the correct relationship to the head of household and dates of birth, and completing the Disabling Condition field accurately.\"}]","Counts Tab Cheat Sheet | PDF"]
