They called me in a couple of days and invited me to talk. I arrived and two managers interviewed me. I've been informed that there's no job decorating cae , only costco has ever offered entry-level jobs of the season. I said I applied specifically to work at the bakery. Then they told me I'd gotten to the interview on the next level. I waited 5 minutes another manager asked me a few vague questions about customer service. He mentioned again that I'm not just going to get a job as a baker , everyone starts at the entry level at $15 an hour. He'd be expected to collect carts in a snowy ecte. He said all the other people who are employed for the season will compete for a few full-time seats and that's becoming very competitive. Then he said it was time for my drug test. He gave me a form to sign. I said the drug test was part of the interview process? That's when he told me I was hired and he was going to put me on a schedule right away. He acted confused when I said I didn't know if I wanted the job. He said I'd better hurry because my place will be gone. I found it all very offensive , they acted like I was uppity because I wanted the job I applied for , and as a trained , trained professional baker , I wanted proper compensation. They bait and switch to suckers people to work insanely seasonal hours/conditions. Invited back for an interview , but hasn't gotten an answer in a week. He finally got a call and had an interview scheduled. You arrived 20 minutes early , but you waited almost two hours? Then , the manager tells me that I wasn't hired as a cake decorator , but as an outspoken seasonal employee , unloading trucks or working in the front and possibly closing a bakery because they promote inside and hell , that was even if they kept me after December. It was quite offensive because the bakery manager didn't tell me that on the phone , nor is that what I signed up for. Keep in mind that I am a trained and experienced cake decorator with a portfolio (with a culinary school to boot) .
