They are designed to assist researchers in complying with the Institute of Education Sciences’ (IES) SEER requirement to analyze the costs of educational interventions or, where relevant, costs compared to a control or comparison condition. \nThe guidelines are based on the emerging literature base on cost analysis in education (see bibliography) and on the CAP Project team’s collective experience conducting cost analyses, reporting the results to practitioners and researchers, and reviewing IES grant applications. IES’s Cost Analysis: A Starter Kit introduces key concepts in cost analysis. The CAP Project Cost Analysis Standards & Guidelines 1. 1 aim to support the execution of cost analyses.2 These guidelines will be updated periodically and are supplemented by additional tools at [https://capproject.org/](https://capproject.org/ to support cost analysis)[ to support cost analysis](https://capproject.org/ to support cost analysis) in education. These include a Checklist for Cost Analysis Plans , a Timeline for Cost and Cost-Effectiveness Analysis , and a semi-automated Excel Cost Analysis Template (CAPCAT ) for documenting and analyzing cost data. These guidelines also support researchers in executing cost analyses that comport with the Standards for Economic Evaluation of Educational and Social Programs (Cost Analysis Standards Project, 2021) . \nWhat is cost analysis? \nCost analy","cbCairzb9SOconAY","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCairzb9SOconAY","pdf",740156,"English","# Introduction\n## What is cost analysis?\n## Why conduct cost analysis?\n## Key goals to keep in mind\n## Providing a Reference Case\n# Conducting a Cost Analysis\n## Stage I: Designing your Cost Analysis\n## Stage II: Collecting Cost Data\n## Stage III: Analyzing Cost Data\n## Stage IV: Reporting your Cost Analysis\n# Appendix\n## Appendix I: Ingredients Data to Collect\n## Appendix II: Sources of National Average Prices\n## Appendix III: Sources of Local Prices\n# Bibliography","[{\"question\":\"What is cost analysis in educational programs?\",\"answer\":\"Cost analysis is a systematic method for identifying and documenting the quantity, quality, and economic value of resources needed to implement a program in practice.\"},{\"question\":\"Why conduct cost analysis and what goals should be kept in mind?\",\"answer\":\"Cost analysis helps produce accurate, comparable cost estimates and supports decisions about program implementation and evaluation, including setting reference cases and clarifying decision-relevant information.\"},{\"question\":\"What are the main stages of conducting a cost analysis and reporting it?\",\"answer\":\"The process covers Stage I design, Stage II cost data collection, Stage III cost data analysis (including valuing resources, adjusting prices, calculating and categorizing costs, and sensitivity analysis), and Stage IV reporting results and cost metrics.\"}]","Cost Analysis Standards & Guidelines 1.1 | PDF",1789157384]
