Rail board orders for strengthening guidelines on child education subsidies There is no doubt that Childen education subsidies and dormitory subsidies are reasonable reimbursements for growing education costs , thanks to a 1.5 times increase recommended by the 7th Pay Commission Update: The Ministry of Defence has issued an order to extend child education subsidies as the fixed amount of Rs. 2250 per month per child i. m. i.a. costs in addition to costs in ins provided by the Civil Defense Department civil defense personnel orders for the fixed amount of children's education civil defense staff surcharges now , CEA and subsidy hostels of Rs. 2250 PM and Rs. 6750 PM respectively are paid per child according to the OM Memorandum Office No. No.A-27012/02/2017-Estt. (AL) august 16 , 2017. This OM on 16.08.2017 clearly shows the govt's intention to do away with the CEA's links to the actual costs ins% for employee education. It says to repay the CEA a certificate from the Head of the Organisation to confirm that the child attended the school during the school year for which the claim was made. However , according to previous Office Memos relating to child education grants that are not replaced and technically valid , the Child Education Grant will be equal to the actual  \ntuition/tuition paid or the maximum CEA allowed which is lower. It is also a fact that workers are feeling very difficult to get fees from schools under the leadership of DOPT as reimbursed. (AL) on July 17 , 2018 , also explicitly replaced all previous Memorandums of Office regarding Child Education Grants. Important points clarified in OM on 17.07.2018: 1. Rs. 2250 child education subsidy per month is fixed per child i. m. i.a. the actual cost in ins arises. 2. Certificates issued by directors of educational institutions for the effect that the children concerned study at the school during the time/year for which the claim was preferred. when such certification cannot be produced , self-certified copies of the report card , or fee receipts for the whole year can be filed. 3. In the event that the hostel subsidy is limited to Rs. 6750 per month , the same certificate will have to be produced along with a mention of the amount paid for accommodation and paid boarding. If the certificate is not available , a self-certified copy of the report card , or a fee receipt for the whole year may be 4. Children of central workers who have died in service will be entitled to child education subsidies until the concerned employee has retired or the time of completion of Std 12 of that child anything sooner.
