The poems mix vivid, playful imagery with themes of resilience, faith, friendship, and everyday responsibility. Recurring motifs include seasonal moments like Halloween and Easter, personal transformation through healthier choices, and gratitude for people who leave lasting spiritual presence. The collection combines narrative moments with lyrical declarations, culminating in intimate self-inquiry.","Poetry Series \nConnie Webb \n-poems \nPublication Date: \n2010 \nPublisher: \n[Poemhunter.com-The World](Poemhunter.com-The World)'s Poetry Archive \nConnie Webb() \nI have lived in many places throughout the USA. Traveled to Mexico and Canada. \nRaised in a big family that moved a lot. Have had many different experiences with people, places and things since I am in middle-age now. Graduated from High School and Business College. Took some College Courses. Worked at various minimum wage jobs. Became a stay-at-home mom. Started writing when I was a little kid in diaries. Had my first article published in a local magazine in January 2006 and I jumped up and down when it happened-smile. Thanks for visiting my poem site. \n[www.PoemHunter.com-The World](www.PoemHunter.com-The World)'s Poetry Archive 1 \nA Black Cat Crossed My Path \nA black cat crossed my path \nOn a night of a full moon \nHe was carrying a pack on his back \nAnd dancing around like a loon. \nI thought it was a funny sight \nI couldn’t believe my eyes \nThen I saw a ghostly cat \nIn a transparent disguise. \nHis eyes glowed like fire \nIn the darkened night \nMy hands grew cold \nI was filled with fright. \nJust then the ghostly cat \nFound the black cat by a tree \nThey both did a jig \nAnd started singing merrily. \nI was no longer scared \nAs they danced ‘round and ‘round \nIt was an unusual scene \nAnd an unusual sound. \nThey sang Halloween songs \nAbout pumpkins and goblins and bats \nAnd as they sang \nAlong came about fifty other cats. \nThey all joined in \nThe sound grew so loud \nBut it was a happy sound \nFrom a jolly crowd. \nAll of the cats were dancing \nAnd having a good time \nThen the ghostly cat invited me \nTo have a bite of a lime. \n[www.PoemHunter.com-The World](www.PoemHunter.com-The World)'s Poetry Archive 2 \nI told him it would be sour \nHe said “Well, come dance instead” \nSo I joined the singing cats \nAnd danced with a cat named Fred. \nHe moved around quite fast \nHopping left and right \nWe both danced and danced \nDeep into the night. \nAt last I had enough \nI couldn’t dance anymore \nSo I said good-bye to all the cats \nAnd Fred walked me to my door. \nHe asked if he could come in \nI said “my two cats would probably mind” \nSo he said “I’ll see you around” \nI said “I had a nice time.” \nOne year went by \nHalloween was here again \nA black cat crossed my path \nI knew the party was about to begin. \nHappy Halloween. \nConnie Webb \n[www.PoemHunter.com-The World](www.PoemHunter.com-The World)'s Poetry Archive 3 \nA Gift A Power Brings \nI will take this life of mine \nEnjoying each brand new day \nI will hear the birds that sing \nSmell flowers along the way. \nI will live this life of mine \nWith music close to my heart \nAnd when I care about you \nEach days a happy new start. \nI will love this life of mine \nI’ve survived so many things \nEach joy that I feel today \nIs a gift a Power brings. \nI will know this life of mine \nCan be lived by only me \nBut with faith along my way \nThe more happiness there’ll be. \nConnie Webb \n[www.PoemHunter.com-The World](www.PoemHunter.com-The World)'s Poetry Archive 4 \nA Good Friend She Was \nA good friend she was \nWould be there for me \nThrough ups or downs \nA good friend she was. \nA good friend she was \nWe laughed and had fun \nHer smile was the best \nA good friend she was. \nA good friend she was \nHer caring was amazing \nHer love of life showed \nA good friend she was. \nA good friend she was \nKept her spirits up in pain \nNever showed her hurts \nA good friend she was. \nA good friend she was \nEven up until the end \nPut my hand on her heart \nA good friend she was. \nA good friend she was \nI will treasure the memories \nOf all the joy we shared \nA good friend she was. \n*Dedicated to my very best friend Maryann whose spirit lives on because you really can't destroy goodness \nConnie Webb \n[www.PoemHunter.com-The World](www.PoemHunter.com-The World)'s Poetry Archive 5","cbCairTPMHXtTNuy","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCairTPMHXtTNuy","pdf",128298,135,"English","en",105,"# Poetry Series\n## Author background\n## Selected poems\n### A Black Cat Crossed My Path\n### I will take this life of mine - A Gift A Power Brings\n### A Good Friend She Was\n### A Healthier Easter\n### A Mother's Thoughts\n### A Size Down","[{\"question\":\"Who is the author of the poetry series?\",\"answer\":\"The poetry series is by Connie Webb.\"},{\"question\":\"What themes appear across the poems?\",\"answer\":\"The poems emphasize resilience, faith, friendship, gratitude, and personal transformation through everyday choices.\"},{\"question\":\"Are seasonal events featured in the collection?\",\"answer\":\"Yes.
