Here’s a simple guide with examples of common documents requested by your adjustor: \nBILL OF LADING \nA Bill of Lading is a document used for large freight shipments. It shows who sent the shipment, who will receive it, what’s being shipped, and which carrier is handling it. For air or ocean shipments, it may be called an Airway Bill or Ocean Bill of Lading. \nNote: This document isn’t used for small package shipments like USPS, UPS or FedEx packages. Most commonly for \nDELIVERY RECEIPT \nA Delivery Receipt is a document given to the person receiving a shipment by the carrier. It shows what was delivered, when it arrived, and who accepted it. \nIf there’s any damage to the packaging or the items inside, the person receiving the delivery should write it down on the receipt. They can also refuse the delivery if the damage is significant. \nIt’s a good idea to quickly check the shipment before signing anything. Look for things like ripped tape, crushed boxes, leakage, or broken items, and be sure to note any problems right away. This helps if you need to file a claim later. \nNote: This document isn’t used for small package shipments like USPS, UPS or FedEx packages. Most commonly for \nitems shipped on a pallet or in a shipping container. \nCREDIT MEMO \nA Credit Memo is a document you give to a customer when you refund them or apply a credit to their account. This usually happens if something went wrong with their order, like it arrived damaged or it never arrived. \nIf your claim says you gave a refund or credit to your customer, we’ll need a copy of the credit memo or refund invoice to show that your business had a financial loss. \nRESHIPMENT TRACKING NUMBER \nA Replacement Tracking Number can be requested if you are sending a replacement to a customer when something went wrong with their shipment. This tracking number helps show that a replacement is on the way to your customer. \nIf you’re not sure yet how the customer will be taken care of (like whether they’ll get a refund or a replacement), you can wait until the claim is resolved. In the meantime, please send us: \n• Any messages or emails between you and your customer \n• Screenshots that explain what went wrong \n• What the customer wants (replacement, refund, etc. ) \nThis helps us understand how you’re handling the situation and makes the claim process smoother. \nNOTICE TO CARRIER \nA Notice to Carrier is a written mes","cbCaijOGn9UtwsQL","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaijOGn9UtwsQL","pdf",1418063,"English","# Required for all claims\n## Additional documentation by claim type\n# Photography requirements\n## Bill of lading\n## Delivery receipt\n## Credit memo\n## Reshipment tracking number\n## Notice to carrier\n## Proof of value","[{\"question\":\"What documents are required for all claims?\",\"answer\":\"Submit a merchandise invoice (or purchase order or bill of sale/quote), photos of damaged merchandise and packaging, proof of refund/credit or replacement tracking number when applicable, and a bill of lading/waybill/air waybill for freight shipments.\"},{\"question\":\"What additional evidence is requested for damaged shipment claims?\",\"answer\":\"Depending on the claim, provide a video (one well-shot video may replace photos), a repair estimate if the item can be repaired, and the scrap or salvage value.\"},{\"question\":\"How should photos be taken for a claim?\",\"answer\":\"Photos must clearly show the damage to the goods, the packing materials, and the packaging.
