Includes guidance for completing a building inspection checklist, adding responsible roles and contractors, setting suggested dates, and documenting findings. Provides an example maintenance and repair planning template informed by a Quinquennial Inspection, plus recommended equipment, risk assessment reminders, and roles for volunteers, professionals, and church leadership to help prevent small issues from escalating.","Church Maintenance \nChecklist \nMaintenance and Repair Plan \nTemplate \n| Name of Church & Parish : | | Archdeacon ry: | |\n| --- | --- | --- | --- |\n| Mission Community: | | Year: | |\n| Churchwarden(s): | | | |\n| Church Architect: | | Contact details: | |\n| Useful Contractors: | | Contact details: | |\n\nThe purpose of this checklist and maintenance and repair plan template is to help churches organise maintenance tasks and minor repairs. It will also record observations and work that is carried out. Regular inspection and maintenance identifies issues as soon as possible, preventing small issues from growing into larger (and more expensive) ones. \nUsing this document \nThis document has two parts: \n1. A checklist for inspecting your building. You may prefer to use the maintenance calendar as a ticklist for inspection (keeping separate additional notes rather than using this template) . We recommend that you include plans of interior, exterior, grounds and elevations (or photographs) at the end of the document as they can be used to mark areas of concern for monitoring. \n2. A template for writing a mainentance and repair plan. You should use the results from the inspection checklist and your most recent Quinquennial Inspection report to inform this plan. Using this part of the template is optional, but you should always record repairs in your church log book. \nPlease edit the templates to suit the needs of your church. It’s a good idea to feature maintenance as a regular item on meeting agendas (PCC or Fabric Committee meetings) to help ensure that tasks are regularly carried out and any repairs dealt with as soon as possible. \nHow to complete the maintenance checklist \nGo through each of the tasks, adding or deleting as appropriate for your building \nAdd the name/role/contractor responsible for each \ntask \nAdd an asterisk in the column/s for the date the task will be carried out (suggested dates are already indicated) \nWhen the inspection is carried out, write the date and any relevant observations/notes \nUseful equipment for carrying out maintenance checks \n• Goggles \n• High vis vests/jackets \n• Heavy duty gloves \n• Disposable gloves \n• Trowel \n• Dustpan and brush \n• Secateurs \n• Scrubbing brush \n• Cloths \n• Clipboard and pen \n• Waste bags \n• Face masks (for dust or droppings) \n• Camera (or mobile phone with camera) \n• Tape measure \n• Binoculars \n• Litter pickers \n• Torch \n• General plan of the building \n• First aid kit \nHow to write the maintenance plan \nThis is an example template, which can be adapted to fit each church’s requirements. Simply rename or delete the columns as applicable. Using this template is optional – you do not need to fill it out in addition to your log book. \nOnce the \nAdd a summary of Assign a priority Assign a ta Erngter aet date Check and repair is Verify that \nt hcethtaeakcsekknliasb(ftoinroevthmxae) isthmcaeplsee level f(seeor stcealme)plate respforoctnoheoi brdrelepi pnaeatirrsinogn recafproaririrethetod obeut pisreerrcomeqirsudsi irifoend corecdmoaprdteletthee t ehitne’tsleoberegedbnoinok …Anrenldaeonvtmayanesket \nRoles and responsibilities \nChurch buildings must be inspected by a suitably experienced and qualified professional every five years. This is known as a Quinquennial Inspection (QI) and is one of the key documents in helping the PCC care for their church building. It provides a list of repairs, in order of priority, and should be used to inform your maintenance routine. \nEach church building is different and will have its own maintenance requirements and arrangements. Many have volunteers who can do most of the regular tasks, depending on the complexity of the building. Others employ a contractor for some or all tasks, such as work requiring access at height. Your church architect/professional advisor plays an important role and can help with advice on building related issues. \nPlease note: This checklist and template has been develope","cbCaiu9QwaztTJ64","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiu9QwaztTJ64","pdf",713071,29,"English","en",105,"# Church Maintenance Checklist - Maintenance and Repair Plan Template\n## Using this document\n## How to complete the maintenance checklist\n## Useful equipment for carrying out maintenance checks\n## How to write the maintenance plan\n## Roles and responsibilities\n## Risk assessment\n## Useful resources","[{\"question\":\"What is the purpose of this church maintenance checklist and repair plan template?\",\"answer\":\"It helps churches organize maintenance tasks and minor repairs, while recording observations and work carried out.
