After gaining experience in a variety of health research activities in a variety of settings during my master’s degree in public health, I am excited about the opportunity to join your organization as a Public Health Manager.  \nI am interested in pursuing a career in public health because I am passionate about health promotion, particularly through population-based research. Infectious disease epidemiology, which is the focus of research atthe Las Vegas Center for Public Health, is one of my main interests. During my master’s program in Public Health, I had the opportunity to work on associated initiatives as a Public Health Analyst and take infectious disease courses.  \nThrough my work with the County of San Luis Obispo I participated in a variety of data management and surveillance activities, including the creation of an electronic surveillance system to track the prevalence of childhood pneumonia in El Paso De Robles. I participated in the testing of health kiosk prototypes, the modification of electronic forms, the development of e-health system training modules, and the training of field data collectors. I have also collaborated with several research teams on the design and implementation of similar health projects in Los Angeles and Fresno County. These experiences have allowed me to hone my analytical and evaluation skills in public health interventions in a variety of settings, while also allowing me to collaborate with a wide range of community and industry stakeholders.  \nI am thrilled at the prospect of putting my skills to use in conducting surveillance and observational studies on the various infectious disease interventions that the Las Vegas Center for Public Health is currently focusing on.
