Mentoring is vital for students because it helps them become self-assured and \"agents of their own change\"(Faggella, 2017) . Mentors are available for students to communicate their concerns in a certain area and to act as an advocate for the student’s best interests by assisting them in their pursuits (Faggella, 2017) . Mentors also help students develop self-awareness and nurture their passions by building strong relationships with them. \nGoing with the career problem I discussed in my assignment 2, I wanted to discover different types of jobs within the marketing industry that I could choose to go with after University. During my mentoring session with a professional marketing individual, I wanted to discover the different areas in the marketing industry i.e. Analytics & ROI marketing, product marketing, promotional marketing & strategic marketing that will help me to narrow my decisions and proceed with applying for jobs that I will be happy with. My purpose for the mentorship was also to obtain a better understanding of the job load, what it entailed, and whether it connected with my personal skills and ambitions. With this conversation, I wanted to prototype and test out different internship alternatives so that I could get a sense of what would be required of me and what types of internships I should search for in the field. \nDuring the mentorship session, I learned and received more insight into how I want to get started and advance in finding a profession that I enjoy. \nI first assumed I understood what would be stated and what I would be instructed to do throughout the process, but I learned three vital things about myself as a result of it. I discovered my shortcomings, learned how to digest new material, and realized how much better prepared Iam now with new real-world abilities and expertise acquired during the process. When we met, Itold the mentor that I wanted this mentorship to be an internship so that I could see how I felt working in the industry and accomplish as much as possible in a short period of time. The mentor, on the other hand, instantly pointed out my errors, saying that I had a tendency to skimover the fundamentals of job searching and that I was impatient. I took a step back and let the mentor assist me in clearing the path. She was very helpful in teaching me the fundamentals of each job description as well as her own personal experiences in the field. This led me to realize that I wanted to pursue a job that required creativity, such as product and advertising strategies. This made me feel a lot more prepared and informed about the abilities and information I'd need to pursue the job description indicated. Normally, I would seek job advice from a friend, but listening to a professional with no preconceptions let me seek real-world advice that is currently \nAleena Lertnamvongwan S3764418 \nWord count: 1435 \nbeing implemented. \nAs I learned a lot about my abilities and mistakes, I also gained a wider scope of understanding in certain Job roles that piqued my interest. The mentor and I first went through different roles in the creative industry within marketing; A Job that she already had been doing (PR & Advertising assistant.) Throughout the meeting, she broke down the job into two sections: preparing for the job and understanding the job description. We went over the basic steps and outlined what I would need to submit including my cover letter (CV) and a potential recommendation from oneof my lecturers at university. I realized how much more I needed to know after going through these processes. For example, a CV had to be one page long with clearly structured","cbCaiuHOiX949ZH7","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiuHOiX949ZH7","pdf",276250,"English","# Part A\n## Mentoring purpose and learning outcomes\n## Mentoring session activities and job description insights\n## Future clarity after the mentorship\n# Part B\n## Course assessments and future of work\n## AI and digital marketing upskilling","[{\"question\":\"What was the purpose of the career mentoring session?\",\"answer\":\"The purpose was to understand the job workload and responsibilities in the marketing industry, determine fit with personal skills and ambitions, and test internship alternatives for what to pursue after university.\"},{\"question\":\"What did the mentor correct or emphasize during the session?\",\"answer\":\"The mentor pointed out weaknesses in the student’s job-search approach, noting a tendency to skim fundamentals and impatience, then guided them through core job-search elements and expectations in each role.\"},{\"question\":\"How did the mentorship change the student’s view of job searching and career planning?\",\"answer\":\"It increased clarity by outlining work-life elements, improving preparedness through real-world advice, and highlighting the importance of reading job requirements and asking questions before committing to a role.\"}]","Career Mentoring Evaluation and Reflection on Designing Your Career - Assignment 3 - Part A and Part B | PDF"]
