All required information is below. \nRegards,(signature) Sandy Sample \nAgency: City of Coastville \nContact: Sandy Sample, Director of Public Works, 916-555-1234, [sandys@coastville.ca.gov](sandys@coastville.ca.gov). \nLocation of coastal erosion problem: North end of Coastville Beach. \nDescription of erosion problem and causes: Over the last 10 years the northern end of Coastville Beach has been eroded by oceanic winds and waves. The beach continues to narrow at an average rate of about 5 feet per year, with some years being much worse due to episodic erosion events. A road behind the beach is experiencing periodic overtopping during extremely high tides, and utilities under the road are at risk of damage if the road is undermined. \nDescription of proposed solution: Placement of about 200,000 cubic yards of beach sand in a strategically positioned engineered berm at the northern end of the beach. The City would periodically rebuild the berm using its own equipment. Over a period of several years the sand would erode away, but placement would be engineered to minimize sand loss to the extent possible without a solid retention structure. \nPotential application amount and phase: The City is considering applying to DBW for a $1,500,000 grant to fund the construction phase of this project. \nEstimated total cost of this phase: $3,000,000 . \nEstimated total cost of entire project, all phases: $3,500,000 . \nProject status and schedule: \n• CEQA is complete. \n• Pre-construction engineering is currently in progress and is 60% complete. \n• Permits and consultations: Begin December 2024 , end December 2025. \n• 90% designs: Begin January 2026, end April 2026. \n• 100% designs: Begin May 2026, end July 2026. \n• Advertise and bid: Begin August 2026, end October 2026. \n• Construction: Begin November 2026, end February 2027. \n• Post-construction monitoring: Begin February 2027, end February 2028.","cbCaisrwPdMnwQNQ","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaisrwPdMnwQNQ","pdf",60799,"English","# Letter of Intent Example for Fiscal Year 2026/27 Funding\n## Applicant information and contact\n## Erosion problem description and causes\n## Proposed solution and implementation plan\n## Funding request, costs, and project schedule","[{\"question\":\"Who is the applicant and who should be contacted for this letter of intent?\",\"answer\":\"The applicant is the City of Coastville, and the contact person listed is Sandy Sample, Director of Public Works, with phone number and email provided.\"},{\"question\":\"What coastal erosion problem and impacts does the letter describe?\",\"answer\":\"The letter describes erosion at the north end of Coastville Beach caused by oceanic winds and waves, with the beach narrowing over time.
