Please note your 4th Year industrial placement will take place between Monday 30 January – Friday 21 April 2017 (12 weeks), subject to successful completion of 3rd year examinations, if relevant.  \nYour placement location within Ireland will be organised by the University and, if necessary, it will be your responsibility to ensure that you arrange suitable accommodation and/or transport. While you may receive payment from your host company during your placement, this cannot, unfortunately, be guaranteed. If you are in a position to organise your own placement, please contact DF ([david.fitzpatrick@nuim.ie](david.fitzpatrick@nuim.ie)) as soon as possible.  \nYou should make your placement preference (technological area only, not geographical location) known to DF in order of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 by Monday 19 September 2016 (5 pm) at the very latest (by email) . The potential areas are: In vitro diagnostic industry (human/animal); pharmaceutical; biopharmaceutical; food; Analytical services; Clinical Trials area (office-based) . Please note that while the Department of Biology will make all reasonable attempts to cater for individual preferences, the final decision as to a particular placement lies with the Department of Biology. All placement locations should be decided upon by early-mid December 2016 at the latest and it is likely that some employers will require students to attend for interview.
