One of the major benefits of this type of advertising is that advertisers can take advantage of the users' demographic information and target their ads appropriately. \nSocial media targeting combines current targeting options (such as geotargeting, behavioral targeting, socio-psychographic targeting, etc.), to make detailed target group identification possible. With social media targeting, advertisements are distributed to users based on information gathered from target group profiles. \nWikipedia \nWhy Social Media Ads \n1. Your ideal clients are on Social Media \n2. Organic reach is declining \n3. You can get specific with targeting through audience and platform choices \n4. Cost to acquire a customer is often lower than traditional marketing \n5. Quickly build a relationship with your customer \n6. See what is working in real time \n7. Create campaign objectives specific to your business \n8. You can start with a small budget \n9. Each platform has educational trainings to get you going \n10. You can quickly pivot when something doesn’t work \nChoosing a Platform \nAll or Nothing? \nEvery social media platform offers paid advertisements. This does not mean you should use them all. To help decide where to allocate your marketing dollars, look to see where is your ideal audience is: \n1. Most engaged-where are you performing well organically? Where does your audience interact the most with brands similar to your? \n2. Most concentrated-while there are outliers for each audiences, you want to target platforms where the majority of your ideal audience spends time. \n3. Most accessible-where is your ideal audience hanging out for joy and is most open to receiving your messages. (LinkedIn is the exception) \nPew Research \nFacebook \nUsers ages 25–34 years are the largest demographic. In the distribution of global Facebook users, 19.3% were male users between 25 and 34 years old and 13. 1% were female users in the same age range. While Facebook users can be found at all ages, 72.8% are within the 18–44 years old range. \nStatista \nInstagram \n14.5 percent of global active Instagram \nusers are women between the ages of 18 and 24 years. More than half of the global Instagram population worldwide is aged \n34 years or younger. \nThe photo-sharing app ranked third in terms of preferred social network among \nteenagers in the United States, second to \nSnapchat and TikTok. Teenagers are highly engaged social media audiences. Statista \nPinterest \n● Gender: 78% female, 22% male \n● Time spent per day: 14.2 minutes \n● 82% of people use Pinterest on mobile \n● People watch close to one billion videos a day on Pinterest \nHootsuite","cbCaidrkQ6SinNlw","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaidrkQ6SinNlw","pdf",2525687,"English","# What are Social Media Ads\n# Why Social Media Ads\n# Choosing a Platform\n## All or Nothing?\n## Facebook\n## Instagram\n## Pinterest","[{\"question\":\"What are social media ads and how do they target audiences?\",\"answer\":\"Social network advertising uses social media targeting to focus on users’ demographic and profile information.
