The WWTP at Barnageeragh is a Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR) plant. There are four SBRs that were built in two phases. \n1.2 The Works \n1.2.1 Isolation of SBR 2 and drain down – works due to take place w/c 18th November 2019 \n◼ In order to drain SBR 2 this area will need to be isolated from incoming flow by Murphy Process Engineering (MPE) .This will be achieved by: \n◼ Manually close SBR 2 Inlet Penstock by local control which is located at the Splitter Chamber. \n◼ Manually operate sludge wasting pump, labelled as SAS Pump 2 to reduce mlss level in SBR 2. \n◼ An external diesel powered pump will be located at ground level, adjacent to the south east corner of SBR 2. This will be available for pumping mixed liquor and SBR effluent back to Splitter Chamber during SBR draining. Mixed liquor/Effluent that has been returned to Splitter Chamber will gravitate to remaining SBRs. \n◼ SBR draining from approximately 3.25m Bottom Water Level (BWL) to approximately 1m water level will not involve Confined Space Entry. \n◼ Aeration is used in accordance with the SBR sequence during this period to maintain aerobic conditions and reduce risk of odour emissions. \n◼ Once the SBR has been isolated from incoming wastewater the drain down exercise may take 1 to 2 days. \n◼ When the desired levels have been reached, the SBR equipment must be electrically isolated in \naccordance with MPE Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) procedure. Inlet Penstock, Air Main Actuated Valve, Return Sludge Pump (RAS Pump), SAS Pump and Effluent Decanter are to be isolated before Confined Space Entry. \n1.2.2 Handover prior to SBR entry f","cbCaifpuuBUm8KsB","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaifpuuBUm8KsB","pdf",204407,"English","# Contents\n## 1 Introduction – Scope of Works\n## 2 Pre-commencement Requirements\n## 3 Resources – Materials, Plant and Labour\n## 4 Methodology\n## 5 Programme\n## 6 Quality\n## 7 Safety\n## 8 Environmental\n## 9 Appendices\n## 9.1 Appendix A-Safety Risk Assessment\n## 9.2 Appendix B-Site Layout\n## 9.3 Appendix C-JC Enviro Method Staement & Risk Assessment\n## 9.4 Appendix D-Scaffold Elevation Method Staement & Risk Assessment","[{\"question\":\"What is the scope of works for SBR 2 under this method statement?\",\"answer\":\"The works include isolating SBR 2, draining down, power washing after waste removal, and replacing the membrane/diffusers with scaffold-based access and controlled installation steps.\"},{\"question\":\"How is SBR 2 isolated before drain down and maintenance activities?\",\"answer\":\"Isolation is achieved by manually closing the SBR 2 inlet penstock, operating sludge wasting pump SAS Pump 2 to reduce MLSS level, and using an external diesel pump to return mixed liquor/effluent to the splitter chamber.\"},{\"question\":\"When is electrical isolation and confined space control required?\",\"answer\":\"After isolation from incoming wastewater and when target levels are reached, the SBR equipment must be electrically isolated according to MPE Lock-Out Tag-Out.
