The project guides learners through the full writing cycle—prewriting, drafting, revising/editing, and publishing—and emphasizes six core traits of writing: ideas, organization, sentence fluency, word choice, voice, and conventions. It requires dedicated pages for multiple autobiographical topics, encourages gathering mementos, and supports a finished hard-covered scrapbook, with mentor help for planning and editing.","Autobiography Scrapbook Project\nThe Autobiography scrapbook is a long-term and very rewarding opportunity for you to organize the experiences you have had in your life up to this point. It is a project you will work on in the coming months, and hopefully look back on with fondness for years ahead. It comes at a perfect time for you to reflect on your adventures and choices you have made in life and your continued journeys through life. Everyone should be prepared to struggle a little bit with the preparation of this project, but when completed, it should be a wonderful memento of your early years.\nThis project involves a series of: writings, photos, and letters from loved ones. You will be required to use the writing process: prewriting, drafting, revising/ editing, and publishing. You will be asked to focus on the 6 traits of writing: ideas, organization, sentence fluency, word choice, voice, and conventions. You will need at least one page for each essay to provide enough information so both you and the reader can get a clear picture of who you are. It is not mandatory to type the final draft but is highly recommended to keep it neat.\nDuring the project you will want to gather photographs and other mementos to display with your writings to help make your scrapbook a more complete representation of yourself. All of this will be glued into a hard covered book.\nI will help in any way that I can. I will provide you with time to write and opportunities to edit your work. I will help you brainstorm ideas and add details and descriptions, however the ultimate responsibility in completing the project is yours. Do not wait until the last moment to begin working on writings.\nEveryone will have the following writings in their books:\nWho am I\nAmbitions\nEvent/Person Affected My Life\nSchool Years K-6\nFamily History\nTraditions\nInterview of a Family Member\nOther Pages that You Will Have in Your Book:\nDedication Page\nSignificance of My Name\nMy Favorites\n3 Letters From Loved Ones-\nYou are off the hook on this one. Someone else gets to write. You are to ask 3 loves one to write letters to you and these will also get put into your book.\nI Remember\nFor 5 of the pages you may choose to do what ever you please\nSome Ideas Might Be:\nDecorate the pages with pictures\nDraw pictures\nWrite poetry\nWrite more stories\nOther Stories to consider:\nSports in My Life\t\t\tFriends Through the Years\nHobbies or Collections \t\tA special Relative\nPets Through the Years\t\tVacations\nToys Through the Years Make a Timeline of Your Life\nPage 1\nDedication Page\nWrite who you would like to dedicate your book to and why.\nMake sure to decorate the page.\nIf you have a picture of the person that you are dedicating the book to that would be great to include.\nPage 2\nSignificance of My Name\nAsk your parents why they chose your name.\nAre you named after anyone?\nResearch what your name means.\u000fPage 3\nPage 4-5\nWho Am I: This will be a challenging essay because you are going to have to examine who you are on the inside. This writing will examine your inner-self and may not be what people commonly know about you.\nThink about the things that you really can’t stand and the things that you really love. This is an opportunity to find a different, clever way to present this piece of the autobiography. This is not meant to be just a list. Perhaps you will accompany this essay with a collage.\nPage 6-7\nMy Favorite:\nBrainstorm a list of all of your favorite things. You will need to select 20 that you would like to put in your book.\nSome ideas might be:\nColor, number, food, animal, song, movie…\n1.\n2.\n3.\n4.\n5.\n6.\n7.\n8.\n9.\n10.\n11.\n12.\n13.\n14.\n15.\n16.\n17.\n18.\n19.\n20.\n\u000f\nPage 8-9\nAmbitions: Past and Present:\nWhat do you think you might want to be “when you grow up?” Why have you chosen this profession or career?
