Purpose \nAuthorised service providers have significant safety and other obligations under the Point to Point Transport (Taxis and Hire Vehicles) Act 2017 (the Act) and the Point to Point Transport (Taxis and Hire Vehicles) Regulation 2016 (the Regulation) . \nThe Point to Point Transport Commissioner (the Commissioner) provides online learning courses that must be completed before an application for authorisation as a service provider is made. Existing authorised service providers may also be required to complete this training in certain circumstances. \n2. Mandatory requirements \n2.1 Learning for authorised service providers \nThe Commissioner’s online learning courses provide information about Booking Service Provider and Taxi Service Provider obligations under the Act and Regulation , including the requirement to have an appropriate Safety Management System in place. \nThe courses also connect service providers with additional educational resources available on the Commissioner’s website, to assist them in understanding the systems and processes they are required to implement to meet their obligations under the Act and Regulations. \n2.2 Who is required to complete the learning courses \nTo become an authorised service provider, applicants must complete the learning course relevant to their authorisation , before they make an application for authorisation. \nAn authorised service provider can be \n• an individual \n• two or more people jointly under a partnership or other agreement; or \n• a body corporate. \nIf the service provider will be two or more people jointly, all individuals named under the partnership or agreement must complete the learning course. If the service provider will be a body corporate, the nominated directors or managers for the purposes of the Act, must complete the relevant learning course on behalf of the service provider. \nExisting service providers may also be required to complete the learning course for their authorisation. This will be determined on an individual basis and may occur if the Commission believes the authorised service provider does not have sufficient systems and processes in place to meet their obligations under the Act or Regulations. In these circumstances, a recommendation must be made to and approved by the Executive Director of the Commission. \n2.3 When must the learning course be completed \nThe relevant authorisation learning course must be completed prior to submitting an application for authorisation. \nIf the nominated directors or managers change during the period of authorisation, the newly nominated directors or managers must complete the relevant learning course within 21 days of being nominated. \n2.4 What happens if the authorisation learning course is not completed \nIf the authorisation learning course is not completed prior to an application for authorisation, the application may be refused. \n2.5 Right of review \nService provi","cbCaicy2RW6Jun8M","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaicy2RW6Jun8M","pdf",272417,"English","# Purpose\n# Mandatory requirements\n## Learning for authorised service providers\n## Who is required to complete the learning courses\n## When must the learning course be completed\n## What happens if the authorisation learning course is not completed\n## Right of review\n# Accountabilities\n# Breaches of this policy\n# Document history","[{\"question\":\"Who must complete the authorised service provider learning courses?\",\"answer\":\"Applicants must complete the relevant learning course before submitting an authorisation application.
