INTRODUCTION \n1.1. ASISA members are committed to operating within the Treating Customers Fairly principles framework. Outcome three has relevance requiring customers to be provided with clear information and be appropriately informed. To this end ASISA members have developed a savings cost disclosure methodology to assist potential and existing participating employers and/or boards of trustees (“Clients”) when comparing quotations from different ASISA members of product solutions to retirement funds. This ASISA Standard on Retirement Saving Costs (“RSC”)(“Standard”) is for use by Clients only; it has not been designed for disclosure to individual fund members. It should therefore not be confused with the ASISA Retail Standard: Effective Annual Cost. \n1.2. This Standard has accordingly been established in the interests of promoting transparency and disclosure, reducing search costs incurred by Clients and improving comparability of retirement product solutions to assist Clients to make better informed decisions. \n1.3. This Standard is being shared with ASISA members and the public at large for their consideration and implementation, and is binding on ASISA members. \n2. SCOPE \n2.1. This Standard sets out the minimum cost disclosures for ASISA members in addition to the disclosures required in terms of relevant legislation. The Standard applies to the savings element only in this context, unless otherwise specified in regard to a specific calculation methodology. Whilst risk benefit costs are not included in the RSC calculations; clear and complete disclosure of such costs to Clients is required (as set out in Annexure “A”) . \n2.2. This Standard applies to ASISA members as sponsors of commercial retirement fund products including, but not limited to, umbrella funds and unclaimed benefit funds (“Financial Products”) . The Standard does not apply to retirement annuity funds (including group retirement annuity \nStandard on RSC Disclosure \nPage 2 of 24 \nfunds), preservation funds, beneficiary funds, compulsory annuities and other retail products provided that they are included in the scope of the ASISA Retail Standard: Effective Annual Cost. \n2.3. Clients will be provided with a sample disclosure template as an indication of costs that will be incurred by their individual members as set out in Annexures “B” and “C”(in respect of unclaimed benefit funds) , but it must be noted that this is still at scheme level and not indicative of each member’s individual circumstances. \n3. GENERAL PRINCIPLES \n3.1. ASISA members shall ensure that disclosures: \n3.1.1. are timely; \n3.1.2. are relevant and comprehensive; \n3.1.3. promote product understanding; \n3.1.4. promote product comparisons; \n3.1.5. highlight important information; and \n3.1.6. have regard to consumer needs. \n3.2. Where an ASISA member is required to exercise its discretion in applying this Standard, its discretion will be exercised reasonably, with due regard to the objectives of this Standard as set out in the Introduction and Scope sections above, and with due regard to the above disclosure principles. \n3.3. All independently determined charges and costs incurred or that will be incurred over the relevant period in respect of the retirement fund or “sub-fund” as applicable, whether explicitly or implicitly charged, are to be included in the said cost disclosure to the Client. “Sub-fund” for the purposes of this Standard refers to participating employers in an umbrella fund and means the component of the umbrella fund representing the exclusive interests of the fund members/employees of a particular employer or group of employers. Where a charge or cost is \nStandard on RSC Disclosure \nPage 3 of 24 \nnot available, a reasonable best-estimate must be used and explained in the free text note","cbCaibqziXtetNJ3","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaibqziXtetNJ3","pdf",357283,24,"English","# Introduction\n## Purpose and target audience\n## Relationship to other standards\n# Scope\n## Minimum disclosures and exclusions\n## Applicable financial products\n## Sample template and scheme-level context\n# General Principles\n## Timeliness, relevance, and comprehensiveness\n## Reasonable discretion and disclosure objectives\n## Inclusion of all charges and best-estimate values\n## Charge allocation and explanation rules\n## Accuracy and anti-manipulation requirements\n## Mandatory wording and clear free-text notes","[{\"question\":\"Who is the RSC Standard intended for, and who should not use it for member-level disclosures?\",\"answer\":\"The Standard is established for Clients only (participating employers and boards of trustees).
