Since that time, the School of Nursing has educated over 2,500 professional nurses, as of the Class of 2024, whose skills, talents and expertise are acknowledged and highly desired. \nThe Arnot Ogden Medical Center School of Nursing,(AOMC SON), program underwent a substantive curricular change in 2017- 2018 based on a recommendation from the American Credentialing Education in Nursing (ACEN) . \nPlanning for a two-year associate degree was initially started in 2017, in response to community demographics as well as the decrease in diploma programs throughout the state of New York. The AAS degree program was granted approval by the New York State Department of Education in July of 2019, and the first class of 16 students started the program in the fall of 2019. The AAS degree program is a two-year, 60 credit, four semester program which is offered in the face-to-face format. \nDuring the academic year 2019-20, during the program's second semester, there were many unforeseen challenges that were met due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In person classes and clinicals were abruptly put on hold and the curriculum was then delivered in an alternative format, being through “distant” educational formats. Alternative curriculum plans were sent and approved by the New York State Department of Education to be able to continue to provide the curriculum to the students. The fall of 2020 brought the return of in person classes and on-site clinical experiences. To date the Arnot Ogden Medical Center School of Nursing,(AOMC SON), has graduated five (5) Associate Degree in Nursing classes beginning in 2021. The class of 2026 will graduate in April 2026. The last diploma class graduated in 2021. \nMISSION STATEMENT \nThe mission of the Arnot Ogden Medical Center School of Nursing is to prepare graduates to function as an entry level professional nurse with the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed to promote and restore health to a diverse patient population utilizing safe quality standards of care. \nVISION \nThe vision of the Arnot Ogden Medical Center School of Nursing is to implement a cost-effective, accredited","cbCaimQwOmWYRDe2","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaimQwOmWYRDe2","pdf",3108819,34,"English","# Two-Year Associate Degree in Nursing (RN) Program\n## History: A Century of Caring\n## Mission Statement\n## Vision\n## Essential Functions\n## Essential Function Performance Requirements","[{\"question\":\"What is the program format and duration for the RN associate degree?\",\"answer\":\"The AAS degree is a two-year, 60-credit, four-semester program offered in a face-to-face format.\"},{\"question\":\"When was the AAS degree program approved and when did the first class begin?\",\"answer\":\"The New York State Department of Education approved the AAS program in July 2019, and the first class of 16 students started in fall 2019.\"},{\"question\":\"What is the mission of the Arnot Ogden Medical Center School of Nursing?\",\"answer\":\"The mission is to prepare graduates to function as entry level professional nurses with the knowledge, skills, and competencies to promote and restore health using safe quality standards of care.\"}]","Arnot Ogden Medical Center School of Nursing - 2025-26 Catalog - Two-Year Associate Degree in Nursing (RN) Program | PDF",1789514910]
