It is estimated there are more than 100,000 people in Canada living with Parkinson’s and that number will grow by about 30 people tomorrow and the day after, until we reach 50 new diagnoses per day within 10 years. \nAn overview of Parkinson’s in Alberta \nMore than 10,000 of the 100,000 Canadians living with Parkinson’s are in Alberta. The provincial average wait time to meet with a specialist is one to two years, and it is estimated that there is only one specialist for every 735 people living with Parkinson’s in Alberta.
