Abstract\u003Cbr>The Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) process employs a range of design, material, and management techniques to mitigate the impact of construction on the public. By reducing construction time and minimizing traffic disruptions, ABC projects play a crucial role in infrastructure development. Given their complexity, effective planning and collaboration among project team members are essential. To facilitate this, Project Management Plans (PMPs) are developed. These plans define team members’ roles and outline the processes to be followed. PMPs serve as critical tools, especially for major projects (exceeding $500 million) or those funded by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Previously, the research team created a PMP template specifically for ABC projects. This guide assists project team members in developing their own PMPs. This study evaluated the effectiveness of the template and resulting PMPs. Collaborating with project management teams from various Departments of Transportation (DOTs), the team focused on recently completed ABC projects. Employing a retrospective approach, existing PMPs from completed projects were compared with the ABC template, identifying gaps and overlaps. Subsequently, semi-structured interviews were conducted with personnel from multiple ABC project management teams. The interviewees highlighted several benefits of PMPs, including improved coordination among project participants, enhanced quality and safety, established communication channels, and effective resource management. Overall, the findings provide valuable insights into the effectiveness of PMPs for ABC projects and specifically validate the utility of the previously developed template. |  |  |  |\n\n\n| 17.
