These challenges include difficulties in tracking progress, potential human errors, and limited alignment with earned value analysis (EVA) . Building Information Modeling (BIM) is expected to address these issues. This paper proposes a BIM-based Earned Value Analysis System (BEVAS) which comprises three modules: 1) BIM Model Requirement module specifies that the 3D model should be validated using clash detection and contain parameters for progress input; 2) Progress Data Entry module describes how progress data is inputted, while 3) Earned Value Analysis and Report module details the process of transferring from the 3D model to project control databases and analyzing it using earned value analysis, generating visual and quantitative reports. BEVAS is validated through a case study of a 3-story building, demonstrating its capability in both progress monitoring and earned value analysis. This system has shown significant improvements in monitoring accuracy and ease by providing a reliable earned value analysis. It contributes valuable insights for better decision-making in construction projects. \nKeywords: Building Information Modeling (BIM), construction monitoring, project control, earned value analysis, visualization reports \n© 2025 Penerbit UTM Press. It requires to deliver high-quality infrastructure with numerous variables involved, such as diverse project requirements, unpredictable site conditions, and the coordination of multiple stakeholders. Without rigorous monitoring, the goals of building infrastructure which support business operation while adhering to cost and time constraints cannot be achieved [1] . Therefore, it is essential to implement a robust project monitoring system that not only oversees the construction process but also integrates financial management through earned value analysis. Traditional construction progress monitoring is a laborintensive and error-prone process, relying heavily on manual data collection and subjective judgment. This proposes that conventional methods of progress monitoring, particularly those of data collection, are slow, expensive, and, to a large extent, inaccurate, which makes problem detection uncertain and \ninconsistent [2] . Those drawbacks often result in slow and inaccurate progress reporting, causing project delays. To improve this practice, extending progress monitoring with EVA is a substantial approach, offering a structured and quantitative method to assess project performance in terms of cost and schedule. \nEVA in construction projects is an integrated management approach that offers a precise measure of cost performance by comparing the completed work against a planned baseline, requiring a well-defined project scope, assigned budget, and a specific schedule for performance [3] . One of the main benefits of EVA is its ability to provide project managers with precise metrics, such as cost variance (CV) and schedule variance (SV), which offer insights into whether a project is under or over budget and on track or delayed. Several EVA has been implemented such as simulating in t","cbCaii92viJYyJQF","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaii92viJYyJQF","pdf",1069944,6,"English","# Abstract\n# Keywords\n# 1.0 INTRODUCTION\n## Earned Value Analysis (EVA) in construction\n## Benefits and challenges of EVA\n## Role of BIM in progress monitoring\n## Related research and data input gaps","[{\"question\":\"What problem does this paper address in construction progress monitoring?\",\"answer\":\"Traditional monitoring relies on manual data entry and 2D drawings, which can cause inaccuracies, human errors, and delays in progress reporting.\"},{\"question\":\"What is the proposed BIM-based system (BEVAS) composed of?\",\"answer\":\"BEVAS includes three modules: a BIM model requirement module, a progress data entry module, and an earned value analysis and reporting module.\"},{\"question\":\"How was BEVAS validated and what were the results?\",\"answer\":\"BEVAS was validated through a case study of a 3-story building, showing improvements in monitoring accuracy and ease of generating earned value analysis outputs.\"}]","A BIM-BASED SYSTEM FOR EARNED VALUE ANALYSIS IN CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS - Full Paper - 15.3.2025 | PDF",1789176645]
