To accomplish this, the commission will complete the self-assessment checklist found in the Province of BC's Strategic Planning Toolkit for Local Economic Development in BC (Attachment \\#1) . The commission will then create a timeline for the Economic Development Officer to execute the planning process with the commission.
A recommended self-assessment checklist and project plan has been prepared by staff and can be accepted, modified, or changed entirely (Attachment \\#2) . The "toolkit component" documents that are linked to the self-assessment form in attachment 1 provide examples of what each activity would look like. They are compiled and attached for reference (Attachment \\#3) .
Financial Implications:
There are no financial implications associated with this report.
Economic Development Commission Strategic Plan Objectives:
• Workforce and Residents Attraction
• Community Infrastructure
• Skills Training
• Business Retention and Expansion
• Tourism Marketing
Economic Development Department Staff Report
Voting Structure:

| ENTITLEMENT | HOW VOTE COUNTED |
| --- | --- |
| N/A | N/A |

Prepared by:
Meghan Bowles, Economic Development Officer
Approved By:
Marc Schibli, CFO
Renee Lukasser, Director of Administration/Corporate Officer/HR Lina Gasser, CAO
Status:
Approved-12 Jun 2024
Approved-13 Jun 2024
Approved-13 Jun 2024

| GETTING STARTED
SELF-ASSESSMENT
Attachment \\#1: Strategic Planning Self-Assessment Page 1 of 2 |
| --- |
| DIRECTIONS
Complete the self-assessment below to determine which components you should include in your strategic planning process.
