There is also often a strong correlation with equalities issues because areas with poor air quality are also often less affluent areas,.\nThe mortality burden of air pollution within the UK is equivalent to 28,000 to 36,000 deaths at typical ages, with a total estimated healthcare cost to the NHS and social care of £157 million in 2017.\nInclude a brief summary of the main air quality issues in your local area – what are the main pollutants of concern, what are the observed trends shown by the latest monitoring data (e.g. are levels going up or down?) and are these in line with national trends, where are the current AQMAs or hotspots (including a link to your \u0013 HYPERLINK \"https://uk-air.defra.gov.uk/aqma/list\" \u0014AQMA webpage\u0015), any new major sources of emissions.
