Any Other Business  \nGROUP CHAIR’S INTRODUCTION  \nOur Annual report provides a summary of our activities from across the Group; wehope that you will enjoy reading the various reports from each of the Sectionleaders.  \nThe impact that the activities create is less easy to define on paper; but ourLeaders often talk of the many instances of personal achievements made by theyoung people during the course of the year.  \nWe witness young people being challenged in all sorts of ways, not just with thephysical challenges of such things as overcoming fear to get to the top of climbingwalls or completing night navigation and hikes; but also learning how to get alongwith others, understanding how to lead a team and the value of being mentorsand encouraging younger members of the sections. These are all great examplesof how we prepare young people with skills for life.  \nI want to thank the Leadership teams for their continuing enthusiastic efforts toprovide interesting and challenging programmes for our Beavers, Cubs, Scoutsand Explorers.  \nScouting exists to actively engage and support young people in their personaldevelopment, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society. Theprogress of young people across our sections can be clearly seen by the largenumber of badges awarded each term, which are always well received by theyoungsters who really enjoy seeing their hard work reap benefits.  \nWe would particularly like to thank the Raynes Park Explorer Scout Unit for theirsupport within the Group, it is really appreciated. We have a number of Explorersregularly volunteering with the Beaver, Cub and Scout sections each week; usingtheir knowledge and experience to help with the activities. They are fantastic rolemodels to the younger children and we hope that some of them will becomeScout Leaders in the future.  \nWe are keen to find more adult volunteers to join us as several leaders approachretirement age soon. Our team recognises that people lead busy lives and do nothave a lot of spare time. Tasks can be shared across a number of volunteers toreduce having too much work falling to one person. Core training has to becompleted by all volunteers, but this can be completed online at a time to suit theindividual volunteer. If anyone is interested in volunteering with us, please let usknow so that we can tell you more and find a suitable role for you!  \nThere are many people involved with the Group who are not seen by parents orour young people, but who give their time to undertake tasks that enable us tofunction successfully, these include roles like managing our money; looking afterour joining list and inviting children to join us when they reach the correct age. Ourwebsite, social media activity and notice boards all need to be kept up to date,along with the work needed to comply with the Charity Commission’srequirements.
