Data primer diperoleh melalui wawancara langsung dengan salah satu sekolah di Kota Depok, sedangkan data sekunder bersumber dari berbagai literatur PPDB. Hasil menunjukkan masih ada individu tidak bertanggung jawab yang beroperasi di balik sistem PPDB online, dipengaruhi ketimpangan fasilitas sekolah dan ambisi orang tua. Fraud terkait erat dengan jejaring kuat, sehingga berdampak pada siswa dan tata kelola pendidikan setempat. This study also analyzes in depth the factors and impacts of fraud in the high school admission system in Depok City. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. The data sources obtained were primary data, which came from direct interviews with one of the high schools in Depok City, and secondary data, which came from various literature on high school admission. The results of this study show that there are still irresponsible individuals behind the online high school admission system in Depok City. The uneven distribution of public schools, facilities, and infrastructure in Depok City, as well as parents' ambition to prepare their children for admission to their favorite universities, are factors contributing to such fraudulent activities. Data obtained from the field also indicates that irresponsible individuals are those with strong connections. This directly impacts students and the education system in Depok City. Such fraud has become deeply rooted in Indonesian society. Strong bureaucratic reform is needed from both the government and society to minimize and prevent the recurrence of PPDB fraud in Depok City. The contribution of this research to the development of political science is to expand understanding of the implementation of e-government in the education sector, specifically the dynamics between the technology possessed by the government and the application of local bureaucratic practices. In this case, the online PPDB was designed to enhance transparency and accountability, but it has instead created new opportunities for various forms of fraud that could undermine the effectiveness of the system.
