Discuss what would happen if there were only dry seasons?  \n2. Help the children to think of dry season words. Write their ideas on the blackboard. For example: hot, dry, dusty, windy, sneezing, thirsty, guinea corn etc.  \n3. Learning to Write a Sentence  \n• Tell the class that you want someone to tell you an interesting sentence about the dry season. Write the sentence with a marker on a cardboard strip exactly as the student dictated it. Read it aloud as you write it, and then hold it up and read it to the children. Point out the capital letter at the beginning and the full stop at the end, with space between each word.  \n• Ask for one child to read the first word of the sentence. With scissors cut off the first word only, and give it to the child who read it. Have that child stand in front of the class and hold up the word for the children to read. Continue this with all words in the sentence.  \n• Scramble the words of the sentence by rearranging the children who are at the front. Ask the students to build the sentence again. What is the first word of the sentence?
