As a city councilmember in Hurst, Texas she works to promote the arts in her community. She has served with a local arts nonprofit and was the owner of an art gallery featuring local makers and artisans.  \nCindy began her creative exploration as a jewelry maker and designer and earned her Graduate Gemology degree from the Gemological Institute of America.  \nCindy’s ever evolving journey with Zentangle® began when she joined the work team of Suzanne McNeill, then owner of Design Originals, an art/craft book publisher. Suzanne had just become a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT) and published the first book on the Zentangle® method. Cindy attended the Craft and Hobby Association with Design Originals that year to help introduce this amazing, meditative drawing style to the industry.  \nShe has enjoyed watching the progression of the art form and became a Certified Zentangle Teacher in 2011. Her Zentangle inspired art has appeared in numerous publications and she is the co-author of‘The Beauty of Zentangle’ and ‘Zentangle 12”.  \nAs a Mixed Media Artist she often incorporates Zentangle elements into her art journals, collage and card making. She appreciates the simple practice and minimal materials required and relies on it to relieve stress and quiet her mind.
