It covers safe engine operation and ventilation, protection against fire and hazardous materials, proper vehicle lifting using wheel chocks and safety stands, and careful removal of heavy parts to avoid drops or impacts on brake components. It also specifies electrical and E.F.I./E.C.C.S. handling steps, fuel-pressure release procedures, lubrication and gasket/seal replacement rules, and measures to prevent burns, static damage, leaks, and improper catalyst or turbocharger operation. It additionally provides asbestos safety guidance and disposal practices.",{"@graph":69,"@context":122},[70,84,105],{"@type":71,"itemListElement":72},"BreadcrumbList",[73,77,79,82],{"item":74,"name":75,"@type":76,"position":8},"https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem",{"item":78,"name":9,"@type":76,"position":14},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/",{"item":80,"name":30,"@type":76,"position":81},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/technology/",3,{"item":83,"name":65,"@type":76,"position":19},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/z32-factory-service-manual-precautions/661826/",{"url":83,"name":65,"@type":85,"image":86,"author":91,"headline":65,"publisher":94,"fileFormat":97,"inLanguage":63,"description":67,"dateModified":98,"datePublished":99,"encodingFormat":97,"isAccessibleForFree":100,"interactionStatistic":101},"DigitalDocument",{"url":87,"@type":88,"width":89,"height":90},"https://docshare.wps.com/thumbnails/z32-factory-service-manual-precautions/661826.png","ImageObject",300,407,{"name":92,"@type":93},"Mary Man","Person",{"url":74,"name":95,"@type":96},"DocShare","Organization","application/pdf","2026-10-29","2026-10-28",true,{"@type":102,"interactionType":103,"userInteractionCount":24},"InteractionCounter",{"@type":104},"ViewAction",{"@type":106,"mainEntity":107},"FAQPage",[108,114,118],{"name":109,"@type":110,"acceptedAnswer":111},"What ventilation and fire-safety precautions are required during service?","Question",{"text":112,"@type":113},"Keep the work area well ventilated and free of flammable materials, and avoid smoking while working on the vehicle. each indlvid-ual section. \n1.Do not operate the engine for an extended period of timewithout proper exhaust ventilation. \nKeep the work area well ventilated and free of any inflam-mable materials.Special care should be taken when han-dling any inflammable or poisonous materials, such asgasoline, refrigerant gas, ete. When working in a pit orother enclosed area,be sure to properly ventilate the areabefore working with hazardous materials.Do not smoke while working on the vehicle. \n2.Before jacking up the vehicle, apply wheel chocks or othertire blocks to the wheels to prevent the vehicle frommoving. After jacking up the vehicle, support the vehicleweight with safety stands at the points designated forproper lifting and towing before working on the vehicle. These operations should be done on a level surface. \n3.When removing a heavy component such as the engine ortransaxle/transmission,be careful not to lose your balanceand drop them,Also,do not allow them to strike adjacentparts, especially the brake tubes and master cylinder. \n4.Before starting repairs which do not require battery power, always turn off the ignition switch, then disconnect theground cabie from the battery to prevent accidental shortcircuit. \n5.To prevent serious burns, avoid contact with hot metal partssuch as the radiator, exhaust manifold, tail pipe and muf-fler.Do not remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot. \n# PRECAUTIONS \n\n6.Before servicing the vehicle, protect fenders, upholsteryand carpeting with appropriate covers, \nTake caution that keys, buckles or buttons on your persondo not scratch the paint. \n7.Clean all disassembled parts in the designated liquid orsolvent prior to inspection or assembly. \n8.Replace oil seals,gaskets,packings,O-rings,locking \nwashers,cotter pins,self-locking nuts, etc.with new ones. \n9.Replace inner and outer races of tapered roller bearingsand needle bearings as a set. \n10.Arrange the disassembled parts in accordance with theirassembled locations and sequence. \n11.Do not touch the terminals of electrical components whichuse microcomputers (such as eiectronic control units)Static electricity may damage internai electronic compo-nents. \n12.After disconnecting vacuum or air hoses, attach a tag toindicate the proper connection. \n13.Use only the lubricants specified in MA section. \n14.Use approved bonding agent, sealants or their equivalentswhen required. \n15.Use tools and recommended special tools where specifiedfor safe and efficient service repairs \n16.When repairing the fuel, oil, water, vacuum or exhaustsystems, check all affected lines for leaks. \n17.Dispose of drained oil or the solvent used for cleaning partsin an appropriate manner. \n# Precautions for E.F.I.or E.C.C.S.Engine\n\n1.Before connecting or disconnecting E.F.I.or E.C.C.S.har-ness connector to or from any E.F1.or E.C.C.S.control unit,be sure to turn the
