It explains how to structure revision using the mock examination timetable, what equipment to bring, and how attending teacher-led revision sessions supports recapping knowledge. Your go to staff members are: \n➢ Your form tutors/subject teachers \n➢ Mr Scott (Head of Year) \n➢ Mr Horne (Pastoral Support Manager) \n➢ Mrs Hunter/Miss Newton (Mental Health and Well-Being Support) \n➢ Mrs Feast (Assistant Headteacher: Raising Achievement) \nMock Preparation: Support and Guidance \nYour mock examination timetable \nKnowing when each exam is due to take place will help you to prioritise subjects within your revision timetable. This will also guide you in knowing what equipment you must bring with you each day to ensure that you can successfully complete your mock exams. \nRevision Support \nYour teachers have outlined below a range of sessions which they would like you to attend in the run up to the mock exams to help support you in recapping key knowledge and therefore boosting your confidence and self-belief before your exams. Please attend these sessions with the correct revision materials to get the most out of the sessions. These are not a replacement of independent revision at home, but they are offering additional support. \nA3 copies of this timetable will be available in your form rooms, student services and the \nYear 11 canteen. \nRevision Support \nEffective Revision Strategies \nAll of you are unique and therefore some strategies that work for your friends, may not necessarily work for you. We have provided you with a broad range of different methods for you to try and experiment with to see what works best for you. The one thing that all of these methods have in common, is that they are all focused on repeated retrieval activities which allow knowledge tobe embedded within your long-term memory. \nThe Ebbinghaus forgetting curve shows you how quickly new knowledge is lost if it is not revisited. \nThis is why recapping key knowledge, little and often, is the most effective way of ensuring you remember it! \nCramming doesn’t work as it tricks your brain into thinking you remember key knowledge, when infact, it has not been retained into your long term memory to apply it. \nEffective Revision Strategies \nThings to try: \nEffective Revision Strategies \nEffective Revision Strategies \nEffective Revision Strategies","cbCaimltLkpTkUjf","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaimltLkpTkUjf","pdf",2056182,14,"English","# Mock Preparation: Support and Guidance\n## Your mock examination timetable\n## Revision Support\n## Effective Revision Strategies","[{\"question\":\"How should students use the mock examination timetable in their revision planning?\",\"answer\":\"Knowing when each exam is due helps students prioritize subjects and ensures they bring the correct equipment each day.\"},{\"question\":\"What is the purpose of the revision sessions offered before the mock exams?\",\"answer\":\"The sessions help students recap key knowledge and build confidence, but they are not a replacement for independent revision at home.\"},{\"question\":\"Why is repeated retrieval more effective than cramming?\",\"answer\":\"Repeated retrieval embeds knowledge into long-term memory, while cramming can create the false feeling of recall without proper retention for later application.\"}]","YEAR 11 - MOck Exam Preparation and Support - Mock Preparation: Support and Guidance | PDF",35,{"code":4,"msg":81,"data":97},[98,102,106,109,114,119,124,129,134,137,141],{"id":22,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":99,"show_sort_weight":100,"slug":101},"Story & Novel",90,"story-novel",{"id":26,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":103,"show_sort_weight":104,"slug":105},"Literature",80,"literature",{"id":33,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":29,"show_sort_weight":107,"slug":108},70,"exam",{"id":110,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":111,"show_sort_weight":112,"slug":113},5,"Comic",60,"comic",{"id":115,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":116,"show_sort_weight":117,"slug":118},6,"Technology",50,"technology",{"id":120,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":121,"show_sort_weight":122,"slug":123},7,"Healthcare",40,"healthcare",{"id":125,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":126,"show_sort_weight":127,"slug":128},8,"Research & Report",30,"research-report",{"id":130,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":131,"show_sort_weight":132,"slug":133},9,"Religion & Spirituality",20,"religion-spirituality",{"id":132,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":135,"show_sort_weight":132,"slug":136},"World Cup","world-cup",{"id":138,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":139,"show_sort_weight":138,"slug":140},10,"Lifestyle","lifestyle",{"id":142,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":25,"category_name":143,"show_sort_weight":110,"slug":144},19,"General","general"]
