During each review period teachers are asked to assess student attainment and effort, as well as indicate any areas for concern. Please contact the subject teacher if you have any queries.  \nAttainment  \nGCSE Grades: Most subjects in Years 10 and 11 use the following GCSE grades:  \n􀁸 GCSE pass grades = A* to G, Ungraded = U , Absent = Abs  \nThe grading system for English & Mathematics has changed from a letters system (A*-G) to a numbers system of 9-1 (9 being the highest, 1 the lowest) . Attainment numbers are now issued for English and Mathematics for all year 10 students. The table attached indicates how A* -G grades are translated to 9-1 grades.  \nForecast Grades: The Forecast Grade for GCSE Maths and English is based on the level that the student achieved at KS2 in those subjects. So if a student achieved a Level 4c at KS2 English or Mathematics, then their‘Median Grade’ would be a 4 and their ‘Upper Quartile Grade’ would be a 5. This can go up or down and is likely to be more accurate the closer they get to the end of the course.  \nAgreed Target: This is set at the 2nd Review following a discussion with the subject teacher and it is the grade that a student will aim to achieve at the end of Year 11.  \nEntry Level Certificates in English and Mathematics: These courses are for students who are working at a level below that required for a Grade G at GCSE. To allow small steps of achievement to be recognised, entry level is divided into three sub-levels: entry 1, entry 2 and entry 3. These sub-levels are broadly comparable with National Curriculum levels 1, 2 and 3.  \nLand & Environment: Pass or Fail.
