We call this your ‘MEG’ or Minimum Expected Grade. \nIf Paddington makes GOOD progress, he should attain GCSE Grade 6 in his GCSEs If Paddington makes VERY GOOD progress, he could attain GCSE Grade 7 or above \nin them \nPaddington has to remember that other students across the country will be studying hard to get GCSE grades so he will have to study just as hard too! \nHow have MEGS been checked? \nEnglish, Maths and Science have reviewed your MEGS for these subjects and made adjustments based on their knowledge of your progress since Year 7. \nYour Minimum Expected Grades are not a limit to what you can achieve – you could achieve above these. \nYou will not meet your MEG if you do not work hard and put your full effort into your studies. \nWe also know some students face additional challenges and these Grades may seem like they difficult to obtain but with you working hard, parent/guardian and school support we can try our best to get you there. \nSo many year 11 students WISH they had worked harder in Year 10 so if you are not working to your full potential then NOW is the time to rectify this! \nWhere will you find your Minimum Expected Grades \nSoon you will start to see changes made to help you track your own progress and make sure you and your parents are aware of your target grades/thresholds. \n• MyHighcliffe will soon be showing your Minimum Expected Grade. \n• Your first ‘Progress Check’ will show your current grade in each subject and allow you and parents to compare this to your Minimum Expected Grade. Teachers are starting to fill this in now. \n• Year 10 and 11 Progress Checks will measure your progress against your Minimum Expected Grades. \n• Your Current Grades need to be within a single grade or BETTER at the end of year 10 for you to be able to be say you are on track. \nAssessments \nNow you are in Year 10/11 you will undertaking SAPS and MAPS. \nSAPS – Subject Assessment Points \nAssessments in class that will cover content you have learnt since the start of year 10. They are designed to allow your teachers to identify any gaps in your learning whilst also assessing your understanding. They may use extracts from past GCSE exams. These are used as part of developing your Current Grade. \nMAPS – Mock Assessment Points \nThese are formal examinations undertaken in examination rooms and based on full past GCSE papers.
