for Year 10 \nGCSE Examinations and Coursework For Students and Parents \n2025-26 \nPreface \nDear Parents \nYear 10 is a crucial year for students as they quickly become familiar with the demands of GCSE and BTEC courses, complete controlled assessments and build their knowledge. \nDuring this time, we will also be working with your child to get them really thinking about, talking and planning their choices for post 16 education and training. \nYear 10 will pass quickly and at times your child will be working under increased pressure to meet deadlines and prepare thoroughly for exams at the end of the year. It is important that you maintain regular contact with The Academy should you have concerns regarding your child’s progress, achievement or well-being. \nWe aim to keep parents and students informed about what we do and this booklet has been written so that you are well informed about the course content and assessments that your child will be completing over the coming months. Churchill Academy recognises the important contribution that parents make to their child’s preparation for their final GCSE exams and we hope that you will be actively involved in your child’s learning. We will also be providing Year 10 students and parents with an array of revision support available through the Google classroom and we would encourage you to use these as much as possible. \nAt Churchill Academy we have an emphasis upon using our core values “Kindness, Curiosity, Determination” to equip students with essential personal learning and thinking skills that will enable them to be: - \n● effective participators in their learning \n● creative in their thinking \n● good team players \n● independent enquirers \n● self-managers \nPlease see the important dates listed below. \nYou will find more detailed information for each subject in the following pages of information. Should you need further information the Director of Faculty will be pleased to provide it. \nI hope that Year 10 will be a varied, interesting and successful year for your child here at Churchill Academy. \nYours sincerely \nLucy James \nDeputy Head Curriculum \nContents \nArt and Design......................................................................................................................................................................................... 4 \nArt and Design Fashion Textiles................................................................................................................................................... 5 \nBusiness Studies..................................................................................................................................................................................... 6 \nComputer Science................................................................................................................................................................................. 7 \nDance............................................................................................................................................................................................................. 8 \nDesign and Technology................................................................................................................................................................... 10 \nDrama........................................................................................................................................................................................................... 12 \nEnglish......................................................................................................................................................................................................... 14 \nEthics and Philosophy Full course GCSE and certificate in Philosophy..........................................................16 \nPSHE................................................................................","cbCaibYkLb0Ao6OD","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaibYkLb0Ao6OD","pdf",1697445,"English","# Contents\n## Art and Design\n## Art and Design Fashion Textiles\n## Business Studies\n## Computer Science\n## Dance\n## Design and Technology\n## Drama\n## English\n## Ethics and Philosophy Full course GCSE and certificate in Philosophy\n## PSHE\n## Food and Nutrition\n## Geography\n## Health and Social Care\n## History\n## ICT\n## Mathematics\n## Modern Foreign Languages: French & Spanish\n## Music\n## Music Technology\n## Physical Education - Core PE","[{\"question\":\"What key responsibilities do Year 10 students have during 2025-26?\",\"answer\":\"Students complete GCSE and BTEC coursework, including controlled assessments, and continue building the knowledge needed for end-of-year exams.\"},{\"question\":\"How should parents stay involved throughout the year?\",\"answer\":\"Parents are encouraged to maintain regular contact with the Academy if they have concerns about progress, achievement, or well-being, and to be actively involved in learning.\"},{\"question\":\"What revision support is available to students and parents?\",\"answer\":\"Revision support is provided through Google Classroom, and families are encouraged to use it as much as possible.\"}]","Year 10 GCSE Examinations and Coursework - Guidance for Students and Parents 2025-26 | PDF",101]
