This is because daily life had not changed much in 1500 to 2500 years. Agriculture and technology were rela􀀓vely the same. \nThe Industrial Revolu􀀓on, which had its earliest beginnings around 1800, changed human life drama􀀓cally. More has been created, invented, and produced in the last three centuries than in the en􀀓re course of human history prior to the Industrial Revolu􀀓on. \nWhen did the First Industrial Revolu on begin? \n_____________________________________ \n_____________________________________ \n_____________________________________ \n_____________________________________ \n_____________________________________ \nWhat Was the Industrial Revolu􀀓on? \nThe Industrial Revolu􀀓on was a fundamental change in the way goods were produced, from human labor to machines. The moreefficient means of produc􀀓 on and subsequent higher levels of produc􀀓on triggered far-reaching changes to industrialized society. \nMachines were invented which replaced \nhuman labor. New energy sources were developed to power the new machinery ~~ ~~water, steam, electricity, and oil, as well as modern energy sources such as atomic, solar, and wind energy. The Industrial Revolu􀀓on saw massive increases in the use of metals and minerals like aluminum, coal, copper, and iron. \nTransporta􀀓on improved with the Industrial Revolu􀀓on. Wooden ships were replaced by iron, and later steel, ships. Wind-powered sails were replaced by steam-powered boilers. Trains, automobiles, and airplanes were invented. Journeys that had taken months were reduced to a few weeks and, eventually, to a few hours. \nCommunica􀀓on was vastly improved through the telegraph, telephone, and radio. News spread around the globe within hours, rather than months or years. Inven􀀓ons such as the \nhomes. \nThe Industrial Revolu􀀓on featured the mass produc􀀓on of goods. Manufacturing saw not only an increase in the number of goods produced, but in the diversity of goods produced. Increased produc􀀓on levels were due to the new factory system of produc􀀓on. \nLife changed with industrializa􀀓on. New technologies dislocated farm workers, who migrated to the ci􀀓es (a phenomenon known as rural-to-urban migra􀀓on) . The jobs and wealth brought by the Industrial Revolu􀀓on created completely new socio-economic classes ~~ ~~ the working class, the middle class \nName: Date: Class: \nor bourgeoisie, and the rich industrial capitalist class. \nThose countries which benefited from the Industrial Revolu􀀓on were those which had natural resources or access to natural resources. These were countries that were commi;ed to research and development, with people (capitalists) and governments willing to invest in new technologies. \nWhat energy sources powered the Industrial Revolu on? \n_____________________________________ \n_____________________________________ \n_____________________________________ \n_____________________________________ \n_____________________________________ \nBackground of the Industrial \nnature of the physical universe, as well as the new processes scien􀀓sts developed in chemistry and engineering, laid the groundwork for further research and new inven􀀓ons. \nThe Intellectual Revolu􀀓on, also known as the Age of Reason or Enlightenment, took place in the 17th and 18th centuries alongside the Scien􀀓fic Revolu􀀓on. Leading intellectuals of the period included Locke and Voltaire. These thinkers condemned what they believed to be outdated, unfair, and unnatural laws and social conven􀀓ons. \nOverall, the Commercial, Scien􀀓fic, and Intellectual Revolu􀀓ons created an atmosphere of ","cbCaihz2vgFO2f1E","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaihz2vgFO2f1E","pdf",5722819,15,"English","# Historical Significance of the Industrial Revolution\n## What Was the Industrial Revolution?\n## What energy sources powered the Industrial Revolution?\n## Background leading to the Industrial Revolution\n## The Three major movements (15th-17th centuries)\n# The Domestic System of Production","[{\"question\":\"When did the First Industrial Revolution begin?\",\"answer\":\"It had its earliest beginnings around 1800.\"},{\"question\":\"What was the Industrial Revolution, in terms of production?\",\"answer\":\"It was a fundamental change in how goods were produced, shifting from human labor to machines.\"},{\"question\":\"How did the Industrial Revolution affect daily life and society?\",\"answer\":\"Industrialization changed work patterns as farm workers moved to cities, and it created new socio-economic classes such as the working class, the middle class, and the rich industrial capitalist class.\"}]","World History Student Workbook - The First Industrial Revolution - The First Industrial Revolution | PDF",1792386161,38]
