This year, instead of dressing up as a book character, we are having A VOCABULARY PARADE!
What are books full of? WORDS!! Do you have a favourite word or can you use the dictionary to find an unusual or very descriptive word? Have you found a brilliant new word in a book you have been reading?

Please come displaying an extraordinarily amazing word. You could have a sign around your neck, a hat with the word on or dress up as the word. See the images below for ideas or google ‘vocabulary parade’ for a plethora of other ideas.

We are going to do lots of activities during the day based on the words. A describing word would work better than a noun so for example, if you wanted to come in your football kit, you could be ‘skilful’ rather than ‘footballer’. If you fancied coming in your Brownie uniform you could be ‘reliable’ or ‘helpful’, rather than ‘Brownie’.
See how creative you can be – can you think of a better word than the teachers? | |

TG Diorama Competition
A diorama is a miniature, three-dimensional model, usually created in ashoebox, to show important events or scenes from a book. Here are some examples, but if you wish, you can also look online for further Inspiration. Entries must be handed in by Wednesday 1st March 2023 and there will be a prize for the winner in each Key Stage!
Author Visit: Sean Perkins
On Friday 3rd March, published author Sean Perkins will be visiting all classes to read his ‘Oscar
and Ben’ books and to deliver writing workshops to KS2 children.
World Book Day stall
Tell Tale Books
We are delighted to that Tell Tales Books will be running a book stall after school on World Book Day-Thursday 2nd March. This independent bookstore on Pasture Lane sells a wonderful range of children’s books including a wide range of genres and non-fiction. Why not pop along after school on Thursday 2nd March and treat yourself to a new read!
World Book Day-Culcheth Library visits for Reception and Y1
On WBD, our Reception and Y1 class will visit the library for lots of book talk, fun activities and a storytelling session! More information to follow
More World Book Day news ...
Following the success of last year’s edition, the teachers, teaching assistants and TG staff will once again take part in the TG Masked Reader contest.
In addition, children will be treated to a ‘Book Tasting’ session in each class as well as taking part in the TG World Book Day quiz.","cbCaibmG50TiEAD1","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaibmG50TiEAD1","pdf",1868584,"English","# WORLD BOOK DAY 2023
## Vocabulary Parade
## TG Diorama Competition
## Author Visit: Sean Perkins
## World Book Day stall: Tell Tale Books
## Library visits for Reception and Y1
## More World Book Day news","[{"question":"When does the World Book Day 2023 event start and what is the main activity?","answer":"The events start on Thursday 2nd March.
