10 Handbook and Subject Selection Guide \nWoodleigh School 2027 \nWelcome to Year 10 atWoodleigh \nThe Year 10 elective system is designed to provide students with choice and a broad educational experience prior to specialising in Year 11. \nStudents undertaking Year 10 in 2027 will subsequently undertake the Victorian Certificate of Education, a two-year course of study, in 2028 and 2029. Details of the VCE and VET courses offered are included at the rear of this handbook. \nAfter finalising the VCE timetable, it may be possible for individual students in Year 10 to join VCE classes and hence opt for a VCE subject instead of two Year 10 electives. This will need to be determined once VCE subject blockings are finalised. Students wishing to accelerate into VCE subjects must meet the eligibility criteria outlined on ~~page 19~~ . \nContacts \nLooking for Subject Selection? \nTurn to Page 9 \nKey Contacts \nHead of Learning, Middle Years Programme \nLucy Kane \nHeads of Wellbeing and Administration, Middle Years \nGab O’Loghlen and Craig Azzopardi \nHead of Regenerative Futures Program \nMichelle Pitcher \nHead of Learning, VCE \nCraig Radley \nHead of Careers and VET Coordinator \nShannon Maher \nCo-Heads of Learning Enhancement \nJane Aylward and Callum Barnes \nLearning Area Leaders \nThe Arts: Visual Arts \nEmma Cleine \nThe Arts: Performing Arts \nAnthony Bingham \nDesign \nAndrea de Jong \nLanguage and Literature \nNadia Davison \nHealth & Physical Education \nCraig Radley \nHumanities \nTom Ryan \nLanguage Acquisition \nPrue Patterson \nMathematics \nAlasdair Ross \nScience \nDavid Benton \nHomestead Coordinators \nHomestead 1 \nDerek Kirk \nHomestead 2 \nCass Kitto \nHomestead 3 \nPaige Strouts \nHomestead 4 \nNarelle Barnes \nHomestead 6 \nKate Hadley \nWoodleigh School Year 10 Handbook and Subject Selection Guide 2027 2 \nThe Regenerative Futures Program (RFP) \nThe Year 10 Regenerative Futures Program (RFP) is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge to navigate a complex, rapidly changing world. \nThrough the RFP, students explore responses to some of their generation’s defining social, environmental, and economic challenges. By investigating these topics, students learn how their actions can positively impact the future. \nThe RFP is a space for deep thinking. The program builds on the knowledge and skills developed by the Middle Years Program and enhances students’ academic skillsets in preparation for the rigour of VCE. The RFP curriculum includes core studies in English, Mathematics, Science, Health and Physical Education, and Humanities. Students have access to a broad range of elective subjects and opportunities for accelerated studies in VCE. \nThe RFP presents a hopeful future – providing opportunities for students to explore regenerative practices that help heal and improve their world. \nEmbracing Regenerative Thinking \nRegenerative Thinking is a way of seeing the world that aims to restore and enhance the wellbeing of people, places, and the planet. In the RFP, it is a lens for the design of learning that fosters a deeper connection between students, their communities, and the environment. \nThis approach supports students to contribute to the development of systems that are resilient, adaptive, and capable of continuous improvement, providing lasting benefits for future generations. \nThe focus on Regenerative Thinking in the RFP extends the long tradition of sustainability education at Woodleigh and reflects its core values: Respect for Self, Others, and the Environment. The program aims to foster a mindset that goes beyond simply maintaining the status quo, inspiring students to explore how their actions can have a positive and regenerative impact on their communities and the world. \nWoodleigh School Year 10 Handbook and Subject Selection Guide 2027 3 \nKey Year 10 Experiences \nThe Regenerative Retreat \nThe Regenerative Retreat is a five day program that introduces Year 10 stude","cbCaievQ4hzt1w6n","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaievQ4hzt1w6n","pdf",7077133,24,"English","# Welcome to Year 10 at Woodleigh\n# The Regenerative Futures Program (RFP)\n# Embracing Regenerative Thinking\n# Key Year 10 Experiences\n## The Regenerative Retreat\n## Hattah\n## The Futures Project\n# Key Contacts\n## Learning Area Leaders","[{\"question\":\"How is the Year 10 elective system designed for students in 2027?\",\"answer\":\"It provides students with choice and a broad educational experience before specialising in Year 11.\"},{\"question\":\"What is the Regenerative Futures Program (RFP) and what does it aim to do?\",\"answer\":\"The RFP equips students with skills and knowledge to navigate complex, rapidly changing challenges, helping them understand how their actions can positively impact the future.\"},{\"question\":\"What are the key Year 10 experiences included in the RFP?\",\"answer\":\"The program features experiences such as the Regenerative Retreat, Hattah, and the Futures Project.\"}]","Woodleigh School Year 10 Handbook and Subject Selection Guide 2027 | PDF",1789905907]
