Phelps, Principal Kimberly G. Fields, Assistant Principal Lori Davenport, Administrative Secretary Jennifer Lee, Registration Secretary
Call Us @ 443-809-0857
WES Calendar Dates
Woodbridge is a school !!!
I like to try to get the newsletter out before the month begins because of the important calendar dates, BUT this month I needed to wait until today so we could include the VERY EXCITING information that Woodbridge earned 5 Stars on the Maryland State Report Card for School Year 23-24!! CONGRATULATIONS to all students, parents, staff and friends of the school that contributed to that result!!
Not only are we a 5-Star school, but we moved up 2 overall percentage points in the State and REMAIN a Top 10% school as well!!
This is a HUGE accomplishment that you should feel free to brag about to your extended family and colleagues at work. YOUR child’s school is a 5-STAR SCHOOL!! Watch for more information about the 5-Star Celebration we will be having soon!
Arrival Car Line Info
The arrival line is EMPTY by 8:31 on most days, then it gets backed up around 8:37 am. We try to accommodate anyone already in line at 8:40, but the back-up is causing us to delay starting the school day so we cannot continue that practice. If the line is full the entire time (often on rainy days) we will extend arrival, but starting immediately, staff will end the arrival duty line at 8:40 and students entering the building after that time will be marked tardy.

| December Dates
Dec. 3-5 – PTA Holiday Shop Open
Dec. 9-- Title 1 Schoolwide Transition Team @ 8:45 am Dec. 9-10 – COGAT Testing for 2nd Grade
Dec. 11 – Mission & Vision Review Team @ 2:30 pm Dec. 17 – PTA Mtg @ 6:30 pm (Use Rec Room Doors) Dec. 20 -- Early Dismissal @ 12:25; Winter Break begins Dec. 23-Jan. 1 – Winter Break
Upcoming Dates
Jan. 2 – School Re-opens @ 8:25 am Jan. 20 – School CLOSED
Jan. 24 – Early Dismissal @ 12:25; End of 2nd Quarter
Jan. 28 – PTA @ 6:30 pm
Jan. 29 – No School for Students Jan. 30-31 – MAP Testing Grades 2-5 | |
| --- | --- |
| | |

Dec. ‘24 Newsletter pg . 2
Congratulations
To our Students of the Month for showing COOPERATION!
Inaya Ali Emmett Corbin Danna Mejia Medina Caesar Abuqare Darrell Williams, Jr. Adyaan Mubashir Harseerat Multani
Amna Alvi
Emily Estrada Rivera Jacob Beltran Fatima Argueta Ortiz Kaleyna Jackson Tazeen Fatima Emily Beltran Bonilla
Alishba Asim Athena Vo Dawood Faizan Shahriar Taseen Anthony Allison Austin De La Escobar
PTA HolidAy sHoP
The PTA Holiday Shop is underway and students are busy buying small items for parents, grandparents and siblings. The concept is to have students experience the joy of giving by surprising you with items they picked out by themselves. Several adults are in the shop helping students manage their money to make good choices. The boxed rings below were the first item SOLD OUT! If you are lucky enough to get one, we hope you will wear it with pride (even if it was only $2 .50)!
Students were assigned a shopping day but make-up shopping will be on THURS., Dec. 5th. Anyone who wants to will be allowed to shop Thursday morning.
Scholastic Book Fair Event
Another American Education week activity was the opportunity for parents to shop with their students at the annual Scholastic Book Fair. The mobile book shop filled with items geared specifically to elementary school students
is a student and parent favorite.
If you did not get a chance to shop during
American Education Week, watch for the Book Fair’s return
at the end of the year for our end of year celebrations. The joy of selecting books that interest them is a habit we seek to instill in all of our students and enjoying the Book Fair together as a family is a great way to start!
Dec. ‘24 Newsletter pg . 3
American Education Week Activities!
Parents heard 4th grade Shark Tank presentations and were treated to Reader’s Theater in 2n","cbCaib3NLsURaJ1n","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaib3NLsURaJ1n","pdf",1368043,"English","# WES Calendar Dates
## Arrival Car Line Info
# Congratulations and Student Recognition
## Students of the Month
# PTA Holiday Shop
## Shopping Schedule and Shop Highlights
# Scholastic Book Fair Event
# American Education Week Activities
# Final Field Trips of 2024
# PTA Notes and Upcoming Meetings
## Next PTA Mtg and Title 1 Transition Team","[{"question":"What does the newsletter say about the school’s Maryland State Report Card results?","answer":"Woodbridge earned 5 Stars on the Maryland State Report Card for School Year 23-24.
