by neutral figures or by friends.This will be a foreword written by a friend and admirer of Felicia Langer.In spite of our deep political differences -Felicia Langer is a communist,while I oppose both communism and Marxism-I have been working inthe closest co-operation with Felicia Langer for several years,and I haveno hesitation in saying that I completely believe her testimony and evi-dence.Nobody,in my opinion,whatever his political or philosophicalopinions,can deny that the cases of persecution,oppression and torturedescribed in this book are not only true in themselves,but are alsocharacteristic of Israeli rule in the occupied territories.  \nThere are many other similar cases which could have enlargedthis book to truly monstrous proportions,both from the work of FeliciaLanger herself and from the experiences of other Israeli lawyers,bothJews and Arabs.Indeed the original book in Hebrew as published inIsrael was much longer,because for those of us who
