It contrasts food-related trouble from figures such as Adam and Eve, Esau, Belshazzar, and Eli with the consequences of overeating, idleness, and indulgence. \nDo you remember Belshazzar? The nightBabylon fell he threw a big feast which turned \ninto a drunken brawl. He drank from holyvessels.Food contributed to his fall frompower. \nThere is another man in the Bible who liter-ally fell because of overeating. He evenpassed on his bad eating habits to his sons. His name is Eli,and he was fatter than a forty-pound robin! He loved that fat meat! The Bi-ble tells us this in 1 Samuel 1-4. \nEli's sons began to love fat too,and theywould steal it from the sacrifices!God toldEli,\"You get those sons under control or I'mgoing to take away your ministry.\"Godwarned Eli twice, but he liked to eat ratherthan obey! \nEli's situation is sad because he really didlove God.But he could not give up his eatinghabits or discipline his sons.He was so over-weight that when he heard that the Ark of theCovenant had been stolen,he lost his balanceand fell backwards off a stool, breaking hisneck! \nWrong eating habits produce all kinds ofbad things, but be encouraged,God has theway out of these bad habits! \n# The Lusting For Food\n\nAll of us have a desire for food—that's onlynatural. Our bodies require food to sustainthem. But when we get into the area of“lust-ing”after food,we're in trouble! When wetalk about lusting,we usually think of it in thesexual realm. There is,however,an area offood lusts. If we can discover the cause forthese,I think it will help you. \nOnce in a while I get a craving for a choco-late bar with almonds. It's not very often(thank goodness!),but when I do,I’m con-stantly thinking,“Chocolate with almonds.Chocolate with almonds!”One chocolate barwon't do much damage, but if I continue toeat chocolate bars with almonds,it couldprove disastrous! \nOne time I tried to analyze when I espe-cially found myself craving chocolate bars.I \nbelieve I found the answer to it in Proverbs, that good practical book on wisdom: \nSlothfulness casteth into a deep sleep;andanidle soul shall suffer hunger(Prov.19:15). \nIdle people are hungry people!Have youever noticed that when you don't have muchto do and you don't have your mind on any-thing,that is the easiest time to run past therefrigerator and help yourself?Have you evernoticed that when you're not really busy, youtend to think more about food? \nWhen we are not engaged in some mean-ingful activity,we can easily get hung up onfood. It's good to keep busy.It will help you tobecome thin and stay thin. \nIt's good to keep your bod","cbCailLTVonEmfeG","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCailLTVonEmfeG","pdf",1033080,36,"English","# The Trouble With Food\n# The Lusting For Food","[{\"question\":\"Why does the book connect weight problems with biblical examples?\",\"answer\":\"It uses cases from Scripture, showing how food desires and overeating contributed to trouble and downfall for multiple people, including Eli and others.\"},{\"question\":\"What causes cravings for specific foods according to the text?\",\"answer\":\"The book links cravings to idle time and slothfulness, explaining that when the mind is undisciplined, people more easily “run past the refrigerator.”\"},{\"question\":\"How does the book suggest stopping overeating beyond satisfaction?\",\"answer\":\"It teaches that righteousness involves eating to satisfy the soul within a limit, while going beyond satisfaction leads to stuffing oneself.\"}]","WINNING OVER WEIGHT - The Trouble With Food - A Biblical Guide to Healthy Eating | PDF",1789967139,91]
