Bhaiya, however, has become withdrawn and unhappy, accompanied by a large monster named Dukduk that Chiru believes has stolen his smile. The story explores Bhaiya's struggles with Dukduk, which manifests as anger, lethargy, and a lack of desire to play. Mama suggests fresh air and walks, while Papa advises eating well, but these attempts to fix Bhaiya's mood are ineffective. There are fleeting moments when Dukduk shrinks, allowing Bhaiya to play briefly, but he quickly tires. The narrative highlights the impact of internal struggles on a child's behavior and relationships, portraying Dukduk as a representation of negative emotions or mental health challenges. The story seems to aim at helping young readers understand and empathize with those who might be experiencing difficulties, as well as offering a gentle introduction to concepts of emotional well-being.","Who Stole Bahaiya's Smile \nAuthor: Sanjana Kapur Illustrator: Sunaina Coelho \nEnglish \nChiru and Bhaiya used to play all the time. They’d explore caves under the staircase and fight the aliens on the mango tree in the backyard. \nBhaiya always made Chiru laugh.“Mangasura is from Mars and she is here to destroy your house! Ha-ha!”Bhaiya roared. \n“Aaaah! I will trap and gobble up Mangasura. Bahahahaha!”Chiru said. \nBut it’s been a long time since Chiru and Bhaiya have played together. Bhaiya doesn’t like playing with anyone these days! \n“Why don’t you feel like playing?”Chiru yells at Bhaiya. \n“I don’t want to,\" Bhaiya says. \"Iam stuck with this big monster on my back.” \nChiru names the monster Dukduk. \n“Dukduk must be mean and grumpy,”Chiru thinks.“It feels like he’s swallowed up Bhaiya’s smile.” \nDukduk always seems to be with Bhaiya.“Tell your monster to go away! I don’t like him,” Chiru says. \nSometimes, Dukduk grows bigger than a truck. Bhaiya gets angry about everything on those days. He even chews his food angrily! \nMama thinks she knows how to make Bhaiya feel better.“You should go out for a walk. The fresh air will do you good,” Mama says. \nOn other days Dukduk seems to be holding on to Bhaiya. He doesn’t even let Bhaiya get out of bed. \nPapa keeps asking Bhaiya about his mood and telling him how to fix it. \n“What’s wrong, why aren’t you eating your food?” Papa says.“Eat well and your problem will go away.” \nThere are days when Dukdukis small and floats around like a kite. Then Bhaiya gets out of bed and plays with Chiru.
