they sing the cor-rect propers according to theGradual chants.The congrega-tion rattles out a unison rendi-tion of a rather dull setting ofthe Ordinary,a hackwork de-signed for simplicity first,lastand foremost.The organ is small  (Page 4,Col.1,Please)   \nareas and of an attitude ofylaissez-faire among many personswho are nominally the leaders inthe liturgical movement.  \nignate two different manneis ofdiscriminating between music fitfor church use and that which isnot.Few people will recognizethis even when it is forced uponthem,as most of us are inclinedto presuppose that such an“obvi-ous\"terminology would be self-explanatory.If the truth of thispresumption be tested againstthe opinions of any group of  \nLike so many in other fieldswho\"talk a good fight\",thosewhom we are asked to regard asthe guiding spirits in the move-ment are often the very ones whohave nothing to show for theirown stewardships.This does notdeter them from criticizing thosewhose ideas and
