Development Committee endorsed a new direction for theWorld Bank Group.The updated mission and vision reflect the fact that addressing global challenges is acore part of our common effort to reduce poverty and boost shared prosperity.The task is now to fully alignthe operations of the Bank with this new direction and to further unlock the financial resources needed tomatch our ambition.  \nWe must first robustly implement the adopted reforms.Working in partnerships and as One World BankGroup willrequire adjustments to the organizational design and culture.In that context,we welcome thenew Corporate Scorecard,which will help orient the Bank towards a greater focus on the long-termdevelopment results it achieves for clients rather than short-term volume targets.We especially commendmanagement for accelerating gender equality and inclusion as key drivers of effective and impactfuldevelopment,and for including gender-disaggregated indicators in the new Scorecard.We call for a clearincentive structure for staff that better encourages the incorporation of global challenges into countryengagement,broader collaboration with partners and the mobilization of private capital to support nationaldevelopment goals and address global challenges.We applaud the efforts of management to streamlineprocesses,facilitate faster project processing and reduce bureaucracy by paying more attention toinvestment risk profiles:we should strive for faster service delivery where possible,while upholding thehighest environmental,social and governance safeguards.  \nShareholders have agreed that addressing global challenges is in the interest of all countries,as it is integralto achieving sustainable,inclusive and resilient development.But we recognize that client countries alsoface competing priorities,large investment needs and obstacles such as stranded assets.That is why wecontinue to urge the Bank to incentivize investments in global challenges with transboundary effects tosafeguard a livable planet'.We must adapt food and water systems to a changing climate,accelerate theenergy transition towards renewable sources and prevent further loss of biodiversity.We must also do moreto address the drivers and spillovers of Fragility,Conflict and Violence in allclient countries.The GlobalChallenge Programs form the foundation for these efforts,by applying the One World Bank Groupapproach and multiphase programming.The Bank could also take on a stronger role in coordinating(sectoral)investments in client countries with key development partners,MDBs and the private sector.  \nTo achieve the updated mission,additional resources are needed.Allstakeholders have a role to play.Weremain adamant that the Bank should continue exploring and implementing balance sheet
