It explains how choosing the tradition at 3rd level makes the character blind, removes vision types, and grants blindsight with scaling radius. The subclass offers three sensing options—Earth Vibrations, Keen Hearing, and Ki Sight—each with distinct benefits and limitations. Later features extend into reading motives, casting fog or darkness, resisting threats tied to blindness weaknesses, and finally disrupting opponents’ senses through unarmed strikes.",{"@graph":14,"@context":73},[15,34,56],{"@type":16,"itemListElement":17},"BreadcrumbList",[18,23,27,31],{"item":19,"name":20,"@type":21,"position":22},"https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem",1,{"item":24,"name":25,"@type":21,"position":26},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/","Document",2,{"item":28,"name":29,"@type":21,"position":30},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/story-novel/","Story & Novel",3,{"item":32,"name":10,"@type":21,"position":33},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/way-of-unseeing-way-of-unseeing-blind-monk-subclass/511415/",4,{"url":32,"name":10,"@type":35,"image":36,"author":41,"headline":10,"publisher":44,"fileFormat":47,"inLanguage":8,"description":12,"dateModified":48,"datePublished":49,"encodingFormat":47,"isAccessibleForFree":50,"interactionStatistic":51},"DigitalDocument",{"url":37,"@type":38,"width":39,"height":40},"https://docshare.wps.com/thumbnails/way-of-unseeing-way-of-unseeing-blind-monk-subclass/511415.png","ImageObject",300,407,{"name":42,"@type":43},"dbqoiu","Person",{"url":19,"name":45,"@type":46},"DocShare","Organization","application/pdf","2026-10-29","2026-10-06",true,{"@type":52,"interactionType":53,"userInteractionCount":55},"InteractionCounter",{"@type":54},"ViewAction",8,{"@type":57,"mainEntity":58},"FAQPage",[59,65,69],{"name":60,"@type":61,"acceptedAnswer":62},"What changes when a monk chooses the Way of Unseeing at 3rd level?","Question",{"text":63,"@type":64},"The monk becomes blind, loses all vision including darkvision and truesight, and gains blindsight with a 30-foot radius that scales at higher levels.","Answer",{"name":66,"@type":61,"acceptedAnswer":67},"What are the three ways to see while using this subclass?",{"text":68,"@type":64},"Choose Earth Vibrations, Keen Hearing, or Ki Sight. This is not to say they spend all their days in the Underdark or that they live in figurative darkness: ignorance. These monks are blind. Their blindness can arise from a multitude of ways, including birth, eyes having been gouged out, some curse or disease, or a traumatic blow to the head. \nAfter losing their sight, these monks use a certain technique in order to see. They embrace this way of life to show themselves useful in a variety of unique situations, such as combat within magical darkness or against invisible foes. \nBlindness \nStarting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you become blind. You lose any vision you may have, including darkvision and truesight. You then gain blindsight out to a radius of 30 feet. This radius increases by 10 feet at 6th level (40 ft. radius), 20 feet at 11th level (50 ft. radius), and 30 feet at 17th level (60 ft. radius). As a bonus action, you can spend 1 Ki point to double the radius for 1 minute. \nAdditionally, you choose the means by which you see. Choose one of the following options. You cannot change this choice once its been made. \nEarth Vibrations. Through your feet, you feel vibrations in the ground. Your initial blindsight radius is decreased to 10 feet and you gain tremorsense out to a radius of 40 feet. The blindsight and tremorsense are affected by the radius increase shown above. \nKeen Hearing. Having been blind, you develop a highly attuned sense of hearing. You have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) based on hearing. While deafened, the radius of your blindsight is reduced to 0 feet. \nKi Sight. You use your attunement with Ki to sense the Ki in other creatures. You can tell the true form of any shapechanger or creature affected with transmutation magic if it is within your blindsight radius. Additionally, all constructs, undead that cannot cast spells, and creatures with an effect that prevents divination magic are invisible to you. \nSixth Sense \nAt 6th level, you can use your highly attuned senses and connection to Ki to sense the motives of other creatures. You can spend 2 ki points to cast the detect thoughts spell or the zone of truth spell. \nOnly the Blind Can See \nAdditionally at 6th level, you can spend 1 ki point to cast the fog cloud spell and 2 ki points to cast the darkness spell. \nHinder Weaknesses \nBeginning at 11th level, you gain abilities to aid you against those that can exploit the weaknesses of your blindness and specific type of sight. \nEarth Vibrations. If you were hit by an attack or affected by a spell from a creature that is flying within the past round, you can spend 2 ki points to cast the earthbind spell on it as a spell-like ability (i.e. it cannot be counterspelled). You do not have to see the creature when you use this feature and you do not have to concentrate on its effect. You can only have one creature affected by this feature at a time. If you use this feature again, the spell ends on the previous cr","cbCaikza0t7iavJW","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaikza0t7iavJW","pdf",1213428,"English","# Way of Unseeing\n## Blindness\n## Sixth Sense\n## Only the Blind Can See\n## Hinder Weaknesses\n## Vision Rend\n## Comments and Discussion","[{\"question\":\"What changes when a monk chooses the Way of Unseeing at 3rd level?\",\"answer\":\"The monk becomes blind, loses all vision including darkvision and truesight, and gains blindsight with a 30-foot radius that scales at higher levels.\"},{\"question\":\"What are the three ways to see while using this subclass?\",\"answer\":\"Choose Earth Vibrations, Keen Hearing, or Ki Sight.
