Chapter approved 2004. \nCharacter Creation in Chapter Approved Explained I was curious about how character creation works in Chapter Approved. How do you create characters? Are there tables or restrictions? Has anyone tried it yet? After getting my copy, I glanced through the character builder but didn't read it thoroughly. The character builder is a bunch of charts that allow you to give your character different traits or skills like extra AP on weapons or strength. However, I saw no ability to give different wargear. I imagine they'll release an HQ level Inceptor at some point, probably as a Lieutenant. The new chapter approved has a character builder with three types of character types: Hero (4 buffs), another type of hero (6 buffs), and legendary hero (8 buffs) . There are four charts that allow you to customize your character. The first table gives creation buffs like \"reroll 1 in the shooting phase if 6\" away\" . Another table increases models' weapon strength, toughness, or armor type. However, there are restrictions such as choosing multiple buffs with the same effect. The only problems I have with it is that it never clearly states how many heroes of each type can be used. Also, why haven't they figured out points values? This would make it easier to keep things balanced. Overall, I love it and plan to use it despite a couple of gripes. According to what I've read, theoretically, you can have as many heroes as you want provided your opponent is okay with it. The character builder allows you to pick a generic hero type to base your points off of. I like that they want people to make logical choices on which type of hero level to use. This suggests a move towards more narrative play and storytelling in the game. Almost two years ago, my group started running the Astradus campaign, which incorporated nearly 30 players across the U.S. Northeast coast. Players were given a chance to design their own Warlords using custom character creation rules. The goal was to encourage players to do custom conversions and create backstories for their characters. To start, they had to follow the Rules for Warmasters, which included selecting traits from Chapter Approved 2018 and choosing a Warlord trait that couldn't be changed. The resulting model would have a relic and cost +25 points over its original model value. If a player killed their own Warmaster, they scored one Campaign Victory point per round. However, there were some key restrictions to consider. Robert Jones, also known as \"TheChirurgeon,\" began his Warhammer journey as a Black Legion sorcerer in the Paulus campaign. This linear narrative campaign started with three friends and eventually grew to eight players, concluding with a massive Apocalypse battle where Kaervek's forces triumphed after completing a ritual that unleashed daemons on the planet. During this campaign, Jones' army was led by Chaos Lord Molloch, who ultimately met his demise at the hands of T'au Commander Kin'Shi. To create Molloch's model, Jones replaced the mace head with a staff head from the Chaos Terminator Sorcerer Lord and painted his cloak blue to signify his allegiance to the Sons of the Cyclops warband. When starting the Astradus Campaign, Jones decided to continue the story of Kaervek, who had become a powerful summoner. He re-based Kaervek on a 32mm base and added brimstone horrors to signify his mastery of Daemonology. Rules-wise, Kaervek gained an invulnerable save, extra Wound, Foresight ability, and aura helping summon Daemons. Other Goonhammer authors in the campaign include Necromunday author Merton and Hammer of Math author \"Primaris\" Kevin. Merton's Warmaster is Grubslag, a Warlord who took over due to his massive size. Kevin's Warmaster is Watch Master Ominus Primaris, whose story will be explored further.
