Applicants must have attended Waco ISD for the entire high school experience, hold a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and have passed all STAAR/End of Course exams, with required materials including an application form, three teacher/counselor recommendations, an official transcript, a leadership-focused resume, and proof of college acceptance.","The Waco High Class of 1968-1971 Social Club Scholarship Award  \nThe graduating classes of 1968 through 1971 share a common bond, the Desegregation of Waco Public Schools. The former students of classes 68-71 played a pivotal role in a chapter of history that changed the Waco community forever. They are Pioneers of Desegregation. The Class of 1968 was the first to graduate from Waco High School (segregated campus) and the class of 1971 was the last to graduate from the integrated campus. They broke barriers and paved the way for future generations; because of this, they wanted to continue the legacy and formed the Waco High Class of 1968 through 1971 Social Club.  \n(WHCSC) .  \nThe Waco High Class of 68-71 Social Club provides a sense of belonging and connection, and helps to remedy social isolation.
