Steps explain how to sign in as a Guest User in the AIRSecure Test Kiosk experience, select grade level and content-area practice tests, and exit kiosk mode by restarting the Chromebook and pressing Ctrl + Alt + s. The document also summarizes spring 2019 AIR testing windows and reporting timelines, plus helpful administrator and administration resources.","Vol. 31 \nOhio AIR Testing \nIt’s that time of year again – standardized testing time! In Ohio, that means AIR testing. Prior to beginning any testing, it is recommended that students take at least one practice test. It’s important to model what to do during the test, so a best practice is to start as an entire class, with the teacher walking through a practice test on a projector. After completing that, students can do their own practice test on Chromebooks. To access the practice tests, go to [https://oh.portal.airast.org/ost.stml](https://oh.portal.airast.org/ost.stml) and click on Practice Tests. \nPractice Tests: \nOn the teacher’s computer go to the Practice Site. \n1. Make sure it says Guest User, Guest Session and click Sign In. \n2. Select Grade Level. \n3. Select Test (content area) and which practice test they should work on. There is usually more than one test of each type, so the students can go in a few times. \n4. Go over the test tools with the students. \nStudent Practice Using the Chromebooks: \nThis only works when the AIRSecure Test Kiosk app is installed as a Kiosk App (see the Bonus E-Tip below) . \n1. Students open Chromebooks, but DO NOT LOGIN. \n2. In the bottom left corner, click on the AirTesting icon. \n3. Make sure it says Guest User, Guest Session and click Sign In. \n4. Select Grade Level. \n5. Select Test (content area) and which practice test they should work on. There is usually more than one test of each type, so the students can go in a few times. \n6. Go over the test tools with the students. \n7. To exit kiosk mode after students are done with the practice test, restart the Chromebook and while it is restarting, press Ctrl + Alt + s. \nA guide on Practice Testing for teachers can be found here. If you are doing the open-ended response/writing portion, there are sample prompts and rubrics you can use with the students. This is a nice document to print out, but also have on your computer since it includes many helpful links. There are also other helpful tutorials and tools on ODE’s website. \n| Bonus E-Tip: Set Up a Kiosk App on Chromebooks in Google Admin |\n| --- |\n| To set up the AIRSecure Testing app, open Google Admin, and type Kiosk Settings into the search bar. Click the first option. Click Manage Kiosk Applications, then Chrome Web Store, and type Air Test into the search box. Look for “AIRSecure Test” and click add. Students can then use the above instructions to access the testing app. |\n\nS3 Technologies, Akron OH[mys3tech.com](mys3tech.com), 330.648.5408 \nVol. 31 \nSpring Test Dates 2019 \nSchool districts select 15 consecutive school days, including makeups, within each test window. \n• English Language Arts-March 25 to April 26, 2019 \n• Mathematics, Science and Social Studies-April 1 to May 10, 2019 \nResults for English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies tests taken in Spring 2019 will be available to districts in the Online Reporting System on the following dates: \n• Results for all subjects and all grades for students who tested ONLINE will be available to download Monday, June 3, 2019. \n• Printed family reports for all spring 2019 test are due in districts on July 24, 2019. \nHelpful Resources \n• Test Administrator Checklist \n• Test Administration Manual \n• Resources \n• List of Tests (and how much time is designated for each one) \nS3 Technologies, Akron OH[mys3tech.com](mys3tech.com), 330.648.5408 \nVol. 31 \nOther Student Practice for Mouse and Computer Skills \n• [https://askatechteacher.com/2014/08/15/24-websites-to-teach-mouse-skills/](https://askatechteacher.com/2014/08/15/24-websites-to-teach-mouse-skills/) \n• [https://www.abcya.com/](https://www.abcya.com/) \nFind more E-Tips at [https://goo.gl/qPn7bN](https://goo.gl/qPn7bN) \nS3 Technologies, Akron OH[mys3tech.com](mys3tech.com), 330.648.5408","cbCaips8RoN7Z0hi","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaips8RoN7Z0hi","pdf",237811,3,"English","en",105,"# Practice Tests\n## Teacher practice site steps\n## Student practice on Chromebooks (kiosk)\n# Bonus E-Tip: Set Up a Kiosk App\n# Spring Test Dates 2019\n## Testing windows by subject\n## Result availability and printed report due dates\n# Helpful Resources\n## Administrator checklist and manuals\n## Links for additional skills practice","[{\"question\":\"Why are practice tests recommended before AIR testing in Ohio?\",\"answer\":\"Students are advised to take at least one practice test and to model test-day behavior, so they know what to do during the actual testing.\"},{\"question\":\"How can students use Chromebooks to take AIR practice tests without logging in?\",\"answer\":\"Students open Chromebooks without logging in, click the AirTesting icon to sign in as Guest User, select the grade level, choose the content-area practice test, and complete it in kiosk mode.\"},{\"question\":\"What are the spring 2019 AIR testing date windows and when are results available?\",\"answer\":\"English Language Arts runs from March 25 to April 26, 2019; Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies run from April 1 to May 10, 2019.
