L.A.Y. Cheer Program, serves as the representative of the program to the Prior Lake/Savage community and is ultimately responsible for the operations of the cheer program. The VP leads the Cheer Board, manages relationships with key stakeholders, and ensures that the program is complying with all P. L.A.Y. policies and bylaws.  \nThe Vice President of Cheer also oversees the cheer budget, operations, and overall success of the cheer program. In addition, they set the direction and lead the implementation of program development with assistance from the Sideline Cheer Director and Competition Cheer Director in accordance with the organization’s standards. The VP is also tasked with ensuring the program retainsand attracts new athletes, families and coaches at all age and skill levels.  \nDuties and responsibilities  \nThe duties of this position will continually evolve as the cheer program continues to evolve and grow. Below are a few of the Duties and Responsibilities for the VP of Cheer position:  \n●  Leadership:  \no Cheer Program annual schedule, plan, budget preparation and management  \no Lead the board and a team of volunteers to help organize and effectively execute cheer program priorities and agenda  \no Direct the efforts of the:  \n▪ Sideline Director  \n▪ Competition Cheer Director  \n▪ Assistant Directors and other coordinators/volunteers  \no Work with PCA Coordinator role to prepare and maintain a regular schedule for Board meetings (Minimum 6 per calendar year, including at least 2 in-season) .  \no Work with PCA Coordinator to continually promote & support Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) goals.  \no Continually promote & support Laker Athletic Alliance anti-bullying efforts  \no Grievance and Issue Resolution lead for sport  \n●  Outreach:  \no Attend Cheer events and Cheer Competitions as able (not team parent events)  \no Partner with PLHS Cheer Program Directors regarding program alignment and partnership opportunities  \no Cultivate relationship with PLHS Activities Director as needed as well as other organizations like PLSHA  \no Communicate with PLHS Cheer Booster Club leadership and coaches as needed on partnership opportunities or mat share.  \no Reach out to MN Gophers Cheer and/or other collegiate cheer program(s) to identify partnership opportunities  \no Continue to find fun activities which keep our athletes engaged in Cheer (e.g., Parades, Homecoming, Savage Community Expo, P. L.A.Y. night, off-season clinics, etc. )  \n●  Recruitment:  \no Recruit and help fill open Cheer Board positions  \no Recruit new sideline and competition coaches  \no Interview new competition coach applicants  \n●  Communications:  \no Present Cheer Program Budget for approval by P. L.A.Y. Executive Board  \no Share regular programming updates with P. L.A.Y. Executive Board  \no Communicate with other P. L.A.Y.
