Business Management is a subject that covers a vast range of things that occur everyday in real businesses. Hopefully, by the end of the course, we will have equipped you with necessary skills and knowledge, enabling you to confidently go into the business world and succeed. \nDiscussion of concepts and examples of real businesses and their practices is a key element of Business Management. We encourage everyone to take the opportunity to participate in class discussion with their valued opinions and ideas. Likewise, it is important for everyone to respectfully listen to other’s opinions and ideas. \nThere are a number of house-keeping things that need to be covered: \n􀂾 Folio: Your Folio is both your workbook (where you will keep all written responses/notes) and your display books. Throughout the semester, you are required to keep all handouts, notes and activities in chronological order. You will receive booklets of required work to place in your display book. It is of vital importance that your Folio is bought to every class . We will regularly check the completion of your Folio throughout the semester. \n􀂾 Textbook: The textbook is listed on the booklist and at the back of this induction package. You are also required to bring this to each lesson. \n􀂾 Homework: We will set homework when we need to . You will get ample time in class to complete set class work, but if you fail to use this time appropriately, class work will then become homework. \n􀂾 Activities: From time to time you will be sent out of class for the completion of activities and we trust that you will involve yourself responsibly in these activities. \n􀂾 Completion of Assessment Tasks: We will always give you sufficient notice of when due dates and Assessment Tasks will be. At the VCE level it is vital that you complete these on the due dates. If for some reason you cannot complete an Assessment Task on the scheduled date or cannot submit work by a due date, you need to contact your Student Manager for an extension. A failure to see your Student Manager will result in you completing that particular task fora satisfactory/not satisfactory grade only. \nAssessment Scale: \n\n| \u003C 40 | 40 | 45 | 50 | 55 | 60 | 70 | 75 | 80 | 85 | 90 |\n| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |\n| UG | E | E+ | D | D+ | C | C+ | B | B+ | A | A+ |\n\nCommunication with your teachers is a key to success in VCE, so please talk to us if you require assistance of any sort. We look forward to teaching you next year in Business Management and wish you all the best with your VCE journey. \nRegards, \nMrs Trippett, Ms Owen \nBusiness Management Teaching Staff \n\n| NAME OF TEACHER | EMAIL ADDRESS | LOCATION |\n| --- | --- | --- |\n| Narelle Trippett | [trippettn@vermontsc.vic.edu.au](trippettn@vermontsc.vic.edu.au) | Commerce Office |\n| Karla Owen | [owenk@vermontsc.vic.edu.au](owenk@vermontsc.vic.edu.au) | Commerce Office |\n\nStudy Design for Business Management \nUnit 1: Planning a Business \nOutcome 1 \nOn completion of this unit the student should be able to describe how and why business ideas are created and developed, and explain the methods by which a culture of business innovation and entrepreneurship may be fostered in a nation. \nTo achieve this outcome the student will draw on key knowledge and key skills outlined in Area of Study 1. \nKey knowledge \n• sources of business opportunity such as innovation and entrepreneurship, recognising and taking advantage \n• of market opportunities, changing customer needs, research and development, technological development and global markets \n• the personal motivation behind starting a business such as the desire for independence both financially and personally, to make a profit and to fulfil a market and/or social ","cbCaioYlPJGjeAPN","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaioYlPJGjeAPN","pdf",499841,"English","# Welcome to Business Management\n## Course expectations and participation\n## House-keeping: folio, textbook, homework, activities\n## Completion and assessment task process\n## Assessment scale\n# Study Design for Business Management\n## Unit 1: Planning a Business\n### Outcome 1\n### Outcome 2","[{\"question\":\"What is the folio requirement for VCE Business Management?\",\"answer\":\"The folio functions as a workbook and display book.
