As you are now in year 11 and have chosen to be in this class, you are expected to participate and behave appropriately. This means doing all the homework and set tasks, taking part in discussions, group activities and games. You should come into every class with the intention to learn. If your behavior in class does not reflect this, you will be asked to leave and this absence will affect your 90% attendance. \nIf you are well organised, motivated and have a strong work ethic, you will have an enjoyable and successful year in English Language. In this particular study, it is also your depth of interest and curiosity that will determine the level of your success. \nIn order to get the most out of this course, there are a number of things that you must do over the summer and continue throughout 2022. \n1. Complete the holiday homework tasks by the due date, the first day back at school. These are your first Work Requirement Tasks. \n2. Familiarise yourself with the detailed course outline provided in this package, recording the dates of Assessment Tasks and other Work Requirements. However, please be aware that these are not set in stone and may change depending on other school events. \n3. Develop a good working relationship with your class teacher and maintain regular communication with them throughout the year either in person, or via email, google classroom or pigeon hole. \n4. Ensure that you become familiar with the resources (VATE textbook, Google Classroom and other \nwebsites, notes, other books which are available in the library) . You could also start listening to language podcasts such as Lingthusiasm, Lingua Franca on ABC National, or watching documentaries on language such as ‘Fry’s Planet Word’. \n5. Become familiar with the school’s VCE compliance policy by reading the VCE handbook located on MOODLE. \nIn addition, we strongly suggest that you should: \n● Visit the VCAA website regularly in order to be aware of any changes or updates that are made to the study as well as to familiarise yourself with past examination papers and to read the examiners’reports: [http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/Pages/vce/studies/englishlanguage/englangindex.aspx](http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/Pages/vce/studies/englishlanguage/englangindex.aspx) \n● Develop a study timetable that will assist you in meeting the work deadlines across all of your subjects. Dedicate time each week to review your class notes, record any issues you are having or questions that need resolving. \n● Communicate with students who have studied the subject in previous years to get their perspective and suggestions for success. It also helps to discuss the subject with your classmates outside of lesson times. \nIf you have any queries about the course, please contact your teacher at school or by email. On behalf of the English Language staff, we wish you all the best for your studies ne","cbCaiool68y4AhV9","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiool68y4AhV9","pdf",747614,13,"English","# Welcome letter\n# Email addresses/Staffroom locations of Staff\n# Required Class and Homework Tasks\n# Outline of Study Design for Units 1 and 2\n## Unit 1 – Language and Communication\n## Unit 2 – Language Change\n# 2022 Assessment Tasks and Dates\n## Unit 1: Language and Communication\n## Unit 2: Language Change\n# 2022 Timeline of Content\n## Transition\n## Term 1\n## Term 2\n## Term 3\n## Term 4\n# IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT MISSING ASSESSMENT TASKS\n# SOURCES OF SUPPORT FOR THIS STUDY\n# Materials Required – Texts, Stationery, and other Resources\n# Holiday Tasks","[{\"question\":\"What are the expectations for students in English Language Units 1 and 2?\",\"answer\":\"Students are expected to participate appropriately, complete homework and set tasks, and take part in discussions, group activities, and games.
