Use this guide, along with your Student Report, to geta better sense of where you are, where you might want to go, and how to get there. \nHow am I doing so far? \nYour Student Report shows your relative strengths and weaknesses in four subject areas important for success in college and career: English, math, reading, and science if your school administered science. Ask your counselor what courses you might take to improve in areas where you’re not as strong. \nAm I on target for college and career? \nYour Student Report also shows you how well you’ re learning the skills you’ll need to be ready for college and a career. Most likely, you’ve learned some of these skills better than others. \nUse your Student Report to help you strengthen those skills that you still need to work on. Visit [http://www.act.org/content/act/en/students](http://www.act.org/content/act/en/students)and-parents. html for more information on how to continue your college and career planning. \nWhat Your Scores Mean \nFor PreACT Secure, your scores are between 1 (the lowest score you can receive) and 35 (the highest score you can receive) . PreACT Secure takes the number of questions you got right on each test and translates it to a number between 1 and 35. PreACT 9 Secure is scored on a scale of 1–32 . \nScore Ranges \nNo test can measure educational development with absolute precision. That's why it’s best to think of each of your PreACT Secure assessment scores as a range rather than as a precise point. Your PreACT Secure assessment score ranges are shown on your Student Report next to the colored boxes on the graph below your scores. \nThe heavy line within the colored boxes is your calculated scale score. The graph also includes light gray lines with a number next to each. These are the PreACT Secure Readiness Benchmarks (see PreACT Secure Readiness Benchmarks, page 6) . \nComposite Score \nYour Composite score is the average of your math, English, and reading subject test scores, rounded to the nearest whole number. Think about it like this: Your overall grade-point average in school shows how well you’ re doing across all your different classes. In the same way, your PreACT Secure assessment Composite score shows how well you did across the entire PreACT Secure assessment. \nSTEM Score \nYour STEM score is the average of the math and science test scores if both sections were taken. You can compare your STEM score to the PreACT Secure assessment STEM Readiness Benchmark. This will help you see if you’re on target to be ready for first-year college courses in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) . \nYour Predicted ACT Score Ranges \nPreACT Secure assessments and the ACT test cover the same subject areas. PreACT 9 Secure is designed for 9th graders, PreACT Secure is designed for 10th graders, and the ACT is designed for 11th and 12th graders. \nTogether, the assessments measure your college readiness skills as you progress through school. Your PreACT Secure assessment scores can be used to predict how you’ re likely to do if you take the ACT as an 11th grader. \nYou can use these predicted score ranges to see if you’ re on target to achieve the scores you want by the time you take the ACT later in highschool. PreACT Secure assessments can help you determine if there are subject areas where taking additional courses or gaining additional skills might improve your preparation for college, for technical training, or in your career. \nPreACT 9 Se","cbCaidyfweRkVSJT","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaidyfweRkVSJT","pdf",519702,"English","# Understanding Your Results\n# How am I doing so far?\n# Am I on target for college and career?\n# What Your Scores Mean\n## Score Ranges\n## Composite Score\n## STEM Score\n## Your Predicted ACT Score Ranges\n## Progress Toward the NCRC Certificate\n## US Rank\n# Your Detailed PreACT Results","[{\"question\":\"What information is included in the PreACT Secure Student Report?\",\"answer\":\"It includes composite, subject, and STEM scores, predicted ACT score ranges, the Progress Toward the NCRC indicator, and US Rank percentile information.\"},{\"question\":\"How should I interpret PreACT Secure score ranges instead of a single score?\",\"answer\":\"PreACT Secure results are best viewed as ranges because no test measures development with absolute precision; the range appears next to colored boxes on the graph.\"},{\"question\":\"What do the Composite score, STEM score, and US Rank mean?\",\"answer\":\"Composite is the average of math, English, and reading subject scores; STEM is the average of math and science scores when both are taken; US Rank shows the percentile of students who scored equal to or lower than the student’s score.\"}]","Using Your Results - PreACT Secure Assessments - Student Report | PDF",1791521429,18]
