Directors also supported operationalizing the GRID agenda, mobilizing private capital, and leveraging IFC and MIGA to develop the private sector and reduce dependence on state-owned enterprises. They called for selectivity, gender and inclusion indicators, and noted the value of global public goods and knowledge spillovers.","Public Disclosure Authorized Public Disclosure Authorized \nUruguay-Country Partnership Framework \nChair Summary* \nTuesday, December 6, 2022 \nExecutive Directors discussed the Country Partnership Framework (CPF) for the Oriental Republic of Uruguay for the period FY23-FY27 and commended the CPF’s focus on increasing resilience to climate change and other shocks, bolstering human capital and creating a more competitive business environment that would bring more and better jobs. \nDirectors encouraged Management to exercise selectivity and focus on closing Uruguay’s development gaps in human capital and social inclusion, which constrain progress on the HighIncome Country (HIC) graduation process. They recognized the role that Uruguay is playing in providing Global Public Goods (GPGs) in particular in the fight against climate change. They look forward to the completion of the CCDR which will further inform the CPF and align the CPF with the country’s climate policy reforms. \nRecognizing the importance of operationalizing the Green, Resilient and Inclusive Development (GRID) agenda, they encouraged the WBG to promote private capital mobilization to lay the groundwork for a more competitive and dynamic economy with a focus on support for the green economy. They emphasized the role of IFC and MIGA in developing the private sector and reducing Uruguay’s reliance on State-owned Enterprises. \nDirectors agreed that the continued use of a combination of financial instruments, including the use of DPFs, can underpin a strong reform agenda. They highlighted the need to foster a more inclusive development approach, especially in female labor market participation, and the need for more indicators on gender equality as well as for more attention to Afro-descendants and people with disabilities. \nDirectors welcomed the partnership between the World Bank Group and Uruguay to pilot innovative development solutions and promote global goods and knowledge spillovers for other countries. Directors noted that recent efforts in instrument innovation undertaken by Uruguay to promote climate change finance may present important lessons for MICs. They highlighted the need for the WBG to strengthen its role as a catalyst of knowledge for the benefit of member countries. \n*This Summary is not an approved record.","cbCaiuz0b3HK5VE4","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiuz0b3HK5VE4","pdf",64397,4,1,"English","en",105,"# Executive Directors’ Discussion\n## Focus Areas for FY23–FY27 CPF\n## Development Gaps, Inclusivity, and Indicators\n## GRID Agenda and Private Capital Mobilization\n## Partnerships, Instruments, and Knowledge Spillovers","[{\"question\":\"What period does the Country Partnership Framework cover?\",\"answer\":\"The CPF covers FY23–FY27.\"},{\"question\":\"Which priorities did Executive Directors highlight for the CPF?\",\"answer\":\"They emphasized resilience to climate change and shocks, bolstering human capital, and creating a more competitive business environment to support more and better jobs.\"},{\"question\":\"What did Directors encourage regarding development gaps and inclusion?\",\"answer\":\"They encouraged selectivity to close gaps in human capital and social inclusion, with attention to female labor market participation, gender equality indicators, Afro-descendants, and people with disabilities.\"}]","Uruguay -
