Attending several UCat
Catholic and simply being events made me realize that
faithful during my college somebody is always going through
experience has opened me up to something. Our lives aren’t perfect
new perspectives and questions and frankly, they won’t ever be. Yet,
regarding Catholicism. Keeping that is the very core of our belief.
your eyes on God has never been We weren’t flawless when starting more difficult with everything that our journey, and we won’t be when is happening; even then, it’s hard we get to the other side. But, we not to be angry at Him. I feel this will get to the other side with the way very often when I hear people help of faith and trust in God, and talk about their faith. it certainly helps to
It’s almost like they have a group to do it
take the scenic route, with regardless of who
where you hear all of they are or where they
the highlights oftheir come from. Since my
faith walk and there time here, I’ve learned
never seems to be any faith is the ability of
doubt that clouds knowing something is
their mind. I struggle there, even when you
with this idea; it TIM CHRISTIANSEN can’t see or feel it at
seems everyone else has their whole life
figured out but me. In essence, you hear the same readings and messages of positivity that you become numb to it, almost as if you’ve programmed your brain to think this way since everyone else is doing so. My biggest problem with my faith is that it’s hard to relate to at times; there’s no vulnerability.
This mindset changed last
times. Seeing people
follow this ideal, along with the sense of authenticity they bring, strangely enough brings one closer to God. Because we’re imperfect, we may never truly understand His perfect plan. Yet, I’ve learned the best surprises are always kept secret, and this was definitely a surprise for me.
Tim is a junior at Belmont University.
|

| |
| --- |
| ARON AZIZ,
VU’ 18, SPENT THE PAST TWO YEARS SINCE GRADUATION SERVING AS A FOCUS MISSIONARY AT GEORGIA TECH
IN ATLANTA.
